Thank you for your feedback. The population labels in Ancestry Composition refer to genetically similar groups, rather than nationalities. In general, we sought to make the populations as small as possible, subject to the constraint of being able to distinguish between them. Populations may be inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart.

You can read about the population selection process in more detail in the corresponding section of the Ancestry Composition Guide:
https://www.23andme.com/ancestry_composition_guide/

Your results are a living analysis. Using thousands of reference individuals we are able to continually evolve and improve your results. As we update our reference data, it will not be uncommon to see slight shifts in your results over time.

Thank you for your feedback. The 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service is the first and only genetic service available directly to you that includes reports that meet FDA standards. You now are able to receive 65+ reports on health, traits and ancestry instead of exclusively ancestry reports.

You can preview a full list of available reports here: https://www.23andme.com/dna-health-ancestry/

Keep in mind that each health, trait and wellness report includes a Scientific Details tab that includes more detailed information.

We provide you with one of the most detailed ancestry composition reports on the market today. You can find out about your ancestral origins, what percent of your DNA comes from populations around the world, your maternal and paternal lines and your neanderthal percentage.

Not worth $200

I was hoping to find out more info on some medical issues. The information I got from this was so vague. A lot of the info I got was just pointless as well. Do I flush if I drink for instance. I already knew I was Eastern European so I guess if that's what you want to know go ahead and spend the money but all of the other info I got was either stupid or slot if it said undetermined.

Limited information

This test was not what I was hoping it to be. The information was very general grouping Irish and British then French and German and I would have liked more specifics. Would have liked more info on the Neanderthal gene instead of you're 309 and our highest is 400. I also was hoping for an option to connect with others who had part of the same DNA if they were interested in connecting but this is not an option. I was overall disappointed with this test.

Too general descriptions of countries to understand where they are. Broadly NW European or Sub Sahara Africa doesn't tell me anything.

The test results are very general, they give you results after you complete an extensive questionnaire basically giving them all of the answers which makes me wander whether there is an actual DNA test preformed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. Your genetic data is analyzed, and we generate your personalized reports based on well-established scientific and medical research. Your genetic analysis results are not connected to or derived from your survey answers. The data that we report is strictly genetic information regarding your genotype (e.g. the A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s at particular locations in your genome), generated through processing of your saliva by 23andMe.

A number of our features are personalized for you using information about your ethnicity. Selecting your self-identified ethnicity allows us to provide content specifically tailored to your ethnicity in your genetic reports and compare your results to other users like you. This information is not used to compute your genetic ancestry and you can edit your answers at anytime from your Settings page: https://you.23andme.com/user/
