The DNA Test that keeps giving!

I really have enjoyed my 23andMe DNA test. I like the matching of other relatives. It fascinates me to see other people with the same DNA. I also spent the extra money to get my health included and I have been very pleased with it. When a new test is available 23andMe immediately sends me an update on whether I have the variant or not. I had 3 updates already. That's why I call it the test that keeps on giving.

Finding Family

I am 76 yrs. old and my Dad passed away when I was two. I never got to know his family and have always felt something was missing in my life. Since taking the 23andme DNA test I have found 4 cousins I didn't know I had. I am totally overjoyed with having done this. I am now in the process of having 4 cousins that I was raised with doing their testing. My husband and I have been married for 60 yrs. and his family is the next due to the fact that he was a late in life baby - Dad 45m, Mom 40, so by the time he was an adult most of his family was already gone. So they are next on the list. I cannot tell you how happy this has made me to find family that I have heard about but never thought I would get to know. Thank you from the bottom of my heart......

Found my Biological Father!

The Health + Ancestry results were very interesting! I am Latino and I had questions about where my ancestors originated from. My genetic health results were informative, luckily no bad signs for me.
The biggest shocking result were my DNA relatives. I got a 50% DNA match with a man I have never met. 23andMe told me he was my predicted father. I messaged my predicted father and he saw my profile photo and he knew there was no doubt I was his daughter.
Long story short; my mother was told by her gynecologist she was infertile.
I got to meet my biological father with my mom and legal father (who named me and raised me since day one) a week after we messaged each other. It was a very bonding and a once in a lifetime experience that would've never have happened unless I took a 23andMe test. I'm eternally grateful for 23andMe to help me and my family discover something we wouldn't be able to do on our own!

Amazing!

I got my kit in July 2018 and got my results that August and I'm so happy I did! I was able to find out that I'm much more mixed than my family wants me to think, and some helpful health information as well! I've also been connected to a side of my family that I know little to nothing about, which has been so great being able to learn new things! Other than some little presentation things that bother me and a few bugs, this service is perfect for me!

23&Me Changed my life!

I was adopted when I was five months old, I knew nothing about my history...nothing! My wife gave me a kit when I was sixty six. In a few weeks I was contacted by two new cousins which then opened the floodgates. I was discovered by my paternal family...my huge paternal family! I was immediately accepted into the klan as the long lost son. This has been a glorious experience.

Not as dazzle-dazzle as I was expecting.

its pretty neat that the test told me my eyes are blue and mosquitos love me, but I already knew all of that. I wanted to know what I can do to improve my health, and how to lose weight based on my dna. “avoid fast food” does not feel like a genetic specific suggestion, and when my genetic odds for almost everything is “average” It doesn't give me much to go on. The ancestry portion depends on how many of your family already has taken this test. so its a gamble on if you receive many results.

Too generic

My report and my husbands were almost identical, they could fit anyone here in the south. He is from the south I am not, I am not even from this country. Not even close.
