my father isn't utilizing the information. We are looking for as much information as possible about his mom and his maternal family ancestry. I paid for the kit we forwarded the information and I track everything with him. He's not computer savvy so we discuss it all along the way. Next, we will be purchasing one for his sister. So far, so good.

23&Me was really good. Their product was excellent! I am very impressed with my ancestry results thank you. There was just 2 things that wasn't accurate on my test other than that the service was very good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Deceptive practices

I canceled my subscription last year so it wouldn't be automatically renewed. Then, in the spring, I heard that 23andMe had filed for bankruptcy, and a little while later, I heard that 23andMe was no longer a company. Imagine my surprise when I was charged for yet another year. I've contacted them and explained the situation to them. The fellow said he understood and would credit my account. No credit ever came through. Very disappointed with this entire company.

I upgraded to the health product and it wasn't all that revealing. A lot of the items (without upgrading again) are things I'm already aware of, or don't make a difference to my health. Though they're still interesting (such as how itchy mosquito bites are for me) I don't find it entirely accurate or helpful. There were a few items that were helpful to know, however, given the accuracy of the other items, I'm not sure how much I can trust the accuracy of these critical items (such as likelihood of genetic disease). The overall value of the product I received was low compared to the price.
