too many names

I have learned that I have a rare haplogroup. I would like to see only the names of those with that haplogroup but keep getting names of people I am not interested in contacting

A chance to connect

I ordered the kit to learn more about me. Bring brown in America, the history of my ancestors has been muddled, so I can't just ask my relatives about family health history. 23 & Me has been a great resource to learn about my body and the genes that make me ME!
The added bonus are the people you chat with on the site. I've chatted with more than a dozen of my DNA matches. They're all people trying to put their family history together, and sometimes I'm able to offer clues to lead them in the right direction based on what I know.
Knowing who I am and where I come has been instrumental in finding my sense of place and purpose. I also have an ever growing respect and love for all the people who worked so hard to raise those before me, despite their circumstance, so I could be here today. It's really quite amazing.

New dad! New relatives! Major health discovery!

I did 23andme mainly for the genealogy but when I received the health reports they provided vital information my doctors needed. I was treated for two hereditary problems and was able to then have my children tested, too. Finding a new father, aunt, two half sisters and numerous cousins was wonderful but the health information was truly phenomenal. Thank you 23andme for providing this service. I highly recommend it to all of my friends and family.

Beautiful ethnicity report

23 and me was all part of me discovering my ethnicity, and my biological family. I was adopted as a newborn and through DNA testing, was able to discover the truth. One of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. My intention when ordering the kit was to contribute to IBD research but what I received is priceless.

23andMe put me in contact with my long lost DNA relatives. I was adopted many years ago and through 23andMe, I was able to identify a second cousin who was able to put me in contact with my birth mother, uncles and aunts. This really opened up a whole new world for me. Due to my birth mother leaving several alias for me and using them for herself, I would have never known who my biological family was if it was for the DNA relatives match in 23andMe. I current purchased a kit for a possible half sister and her sample is not being processed as quickly as mine AND its actually taking twice as long as my results did but I am hopeful that the process is completed soon.

Future of healthcare

I received my results within a couple weeks and it’s become a valuable tool for me.
I believe everything was spot on regarding my health and ancestry. The more people we can get to do it the better we can get closer to finding cures.
