I'm very happy that I got both the ancestry and genetic testing done from 23 and Me. Wasn't expecting to have family up in Canada though. Hopefully I'll find some family still living in the UK and other parts of Europe.

I bought this after a co-worker raved about it. I have grown up knowing I was 50% Italian, 25% Polish and Lithuanian...wrong! Now I just collected my Italian fathers DNA to see exactly what he is...he is not happy...ha ha! I also loved seeing the health reports...nice to know whether or not you have an increased risk of certain illnesses so you can be prepared and watch for signs with your doctor...excellent product...thank you!!!

I love the ancestry & health reports. I enjoy filling out surveys that contribute to health & wellness research. You can spend hours on this sight, week after week and year after year. Always new information and updates to explore.

A Gift of Life

This kit was a gift, a gift of health reports that have proved to be invaluable to me and my doctors....a gift of family...reuniting me to my cousins that I have never met, family history that I did not know and family traits and ambitions that still live on in each one of us. We, as a family connected, share this sense of pride and honor and will help one another to reach our goals.

did not reveal ANYTHING of my roots ; too broad a spectrum on " west african " , NONE on my native american- hispanic heritage !! gretaly disappointed and consider it to be a rip off !! I would NOT recommend under ANY circumstance : SAVE YOUR MONEY !!

You can find out about your ancestral origins, what percent of your DNA comes from populations around the world, your maternal and paternal lines and your neanderthal percentage.
Our Ancestry Composition report tells you what percent of your DNA comes from each of 31 populations worldwide. These populations are based on where your ancestors lived prior to the advent of intercontinental travel, thus we do not have a Hispanic reference population. Individuals with Hispanic or Latino ancestry typically see a mixture of European, Native American, and sometimes African DNA.
We are currently able to break out West African,
East African, Central and South African and broadly Sub-Saharan African populations.
Keep in mind that your results are a living analysis. Using thousands of reference individuals we are able to continually evolve and improve your results. As we update our reference data, it will not be uncommon to see slight shifts in your results over time.

Only half a history

I love the concept of this, however I can only find information about my mothers side, my father is dead and I don't have a brother and each time I look at this it says to buy a kit for my father or brother. This won't work for me. I found a relative in Canada that knows the history of my maternal grandparents but this is as far as we have got so far.
