50 years of not knowing anything about my birth father. Now I have connected with a new side of my family and have a better understanding of my health related to genetics.

Adoption Reunion 71 years later

My father last saw his sister 71 years ago until yesterday. She was given up for adoption. Thanks to 23 and Me, after years of searching, she was finally find and he saw her for the first time again yesterday and I got a new Aunt. Without 23 and Me, this never would have been possible. Forever grateful for this service.

23and Me changed my life

I was raised an Irish/German American and always wondered if I was. I was adopted as a baby by my wonderful parents. I received the test and it confirmed I was Irish and German along with English and Sweedish. I happened to click on DNA relatives only to discover that " Anonymous" was my half sister. I reached out to her and since then have discovered everything and have gone from having two siblings to having six and more. So many mysteries have been solved and relationships have been built. Thanks 23andMe!

Could use some updates

I’ve tested with both 23andMe and Ancestry. I wish 23andMe had the inbox message feature on their app. Also wish they had option to build a family tree with my matches. It would be nice if 23andMe and Ancestry sites could talk to one another or be able to upload raw data between sites. I would’ve willing to pay for annual membership if they did this. Right now I think Ancestry is best way to go. Hoping 23andMe me improves in the future.

I was adopted as a baby from Wilmington NC so I don’t know anything about my background. So my sister, who is also adopted, bought this for me as a Christmas gift. I’ve always be interested in my background and any information I can find out. I found the result super interesting. And still looking for more information about possible siblings, parents and medical Information. Of course I’m interested in any extended family I may find. This is a great resource to get me started. Now just have to get the nerve up to contact some of these possible cousins.

About a year after I submitted I was contacted by my son who had been adopted in 1971. I'm still hoping to find my son from 1970 through 23andMe.
