The start of a new family tradition.

for several years I had been asking my parents who I was and where our family came from. This was a question that was answered with several different answers and prove to be quite difficult to answer. So receiving my 23andMe ancestry report was very exciting. Not only was I very excited about the report but my wife and adult children also we're very excited. Now my parents have received their ancestry report and soon my wife, oldest son and daughter will be submitting their sample for testing.
I also have a 10 year old grandson that we are excited to see his report. The entire family is very excited and are looking forward two sitting down and comparing all of our ancestry reports. Not only was this a very helpful tool for me to chart my family tree it will be very helpful for many generations to come.
I hope when my great great great great grandson ask his parents who he is and where he came from they will be able to pull out their reports from 23andMe and show to him exactly who he is and where he came from...
If you have or know one of those people you can never find that perfect gift for, 23and Me makes the perfect gift.
And who knows you may just be starting a new family tradition for them and their family...

Hi,
My name is Ela. I was blown away with the final results from each report on my DNA genes. The DNA markers were right on target for me. For example, I am extremely short and my DNA markers pointed that out and why.

Fantastic way to explore heritage

My husband and I both bought a kit and we are having so much fun exploring the report's and potential genetic relatives.I have already identified a second cousin twice removed.

I got this to find out just how much Indian I have in me, turns out, none! I am mainly British-Irish which is cool. Now a bunch of my friends want to do this too.

Health Reports Underwhelming

I was impressed by the Ancestry regional breakdown and the ability to compare DNA results side by side with other users. I found the Health reports however underwhelming and hope more relevant information is brought to users who purchased them. I don't care about Digit Ratios, Earwax type, my Photo Sneeze or Asparagus Odor Protection.

The kit was easy to order and use with clear instructions. Took about 6 weeks for results. I gotta say, I wasn't impressed with the results. I knew I was of Irish or Scottish descent and Asian. That's basically what the results said. 50% Irish/British. 49.7% Southeast Asian. That's it. For $99, the kit told me what I already knew. I'll dig into my results some more....but I wouldn't recommend this kit just yet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Eye Opening

I have been plagued with rumors and innuendos my entire life regarding my lineage. I don't look like my family and needed a better understanding as to why. When I got my results, I was able to dismiss some things and embrace others. Thank you for bringing me closer to my truth.
