When I decided I wanted more information about my DNA makeup than just passed down stories from elders, I chose 23&me because it sounded like the best choice for the job. I was right! Not only did I receive expected information but also some facts that I had no idea about! I was surprised & excited to find out so much about my bloodlines! It was the best decision I could have made! Thank you so much.

Not entirely accurate

Got my results. Might be partially true. No way are they 100% accurate. Stated i have zero Native American. My grandma was 100% Cherokee. So there's no way this is completely accurate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Having Native American DNA is different from having Native American ancestry. Your results from 23andMe can only show you what can be seen in your DNA. Native American DNA is often lost with time and with every generation and may not be revealed in testing such as ours. For example, it only takes a couple of generations from a full-blooded Native American to lose all trace of Native American DNA.

I'm so pleased with your product. I'd already taken a few other tests out there but yours is the only website really set up to assist the novice DNA user in understanding its application. Beginning with the sample's submission, the tutorials offered prior to the returned results really prepare you for their interpretation. The identification of the gene segments on the chromosomes have been so helpful in narrowing down the branches of my family shared with matches - saving lots of time and guesswork you find on other sharing sites! In fact, in less than one week from the return of my results, one of my matches has identified ancestors I hadn't been able to verify by myself. Amazing - Thank you so much for making it so easy!
To anyone considering taking the autosomal test for the first time I say - start with this one because you won't need to experiment with another!

As I slowly, carefully, read through my reports, each time I discover something very interesting. It has almost created more questions than answers - but questions that I'm excited about delving into, i.e., where did all of the Scandinavian ancestry come from? ( Viking invaders, it seems!) There were indicators in my genome that gave me some "Ah ha!" moments. I'm so glad I had it done!! Money well spent!!

Very interesting and for the most part accurate besides the fact that it said I don't have red hair but I very much do
