Neanderthal Variations

I enjoyed reading the results of my DNA testing from 23 and Me, especially the Neanderthal variations section, and the scientific basis for the results. However, I did not like the way they lumped all the English and Irish DNA together as well as the French and German. Having had my DNA tested previously with another company, I know that not every company does this type of broad stroke categorizing of these very diverse groups of people.

Enlightening Experience

I was surprised to find that some of my heritage was from a different direction than I had known. It was nice to see that my basic heritage was from Northern Europe and the areas that our family had always talked about.

Once learning about 23 & Me, I couldn't wait to experience the results for myself and
all my family members. I was not disappointed and the results were akin to opening a present, exciting! Put this on your list of MUST do, you won't be disappointed.

My results were vague. I would have liked to see the word "broadly", followed by the name of a continent, used less often. I'm not sure this gave me enough specific information to be useful or interesting.

I bought this kit in the beginning of March. By the middle of April I finally knew where I came from. Being of African American descent, our ancestry and history often times get lost in vanquished air. I was so shocked and surprised to find out my results. I have already started recommending this company to family and friends!

This product gives me the opportunity to learn about myself through medical and ancestry reports. It is fascinating to discover where I came from. I have learned a lot about myself since using the kit. To get the best reward from using the kit, you need to answer the research questions and share your results in the database of other 23 and me participants.
