I kind of expected something a bit more detailed actually. The report seemed broad and a bit vague. If I had to describe it the best I could give it would be "meh, nothing exciting".....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

23ANDME HAS MUCH MORE DETAIL IN THEIR REPORT AND THEY LIVED UP TO THEIR ESTIMATE OF TIME REQUIRED TO PRODUCE THE REPORT, UNLIKE A COMPETITOR, WHOM I WILL REFRAIN FROM MENTIONING.

Interesting but not entirely accurate

If you want a guess at your heritage go for it. 23andMe uses statistical anaylsis about your heritage (ie.... 80% of people with this gene are from XX region). I was quite surprised to see that 23andMe reported that I was NOT a CF carrier. Turns out I was. Many people are carriers (doesn't mean I have it) do not expect high accuracy. My blood test revealed something contrary to 23andMe results.... be warned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Incredibly Simple & Fun

Well…
I do think that this is a WONDERFUL thing. It helps individuals, and, more importantly, society. It is important work. It is “fun” work, and, besides that, it's so amazing to see how far we have come in such a relatively short amount of time.

Can you imagine the awesome benefits this will make in the scientific/biologic fields - all the way around to the social & economic trends & developments for the entire world. Plus, on a more basic level, individual disease monitoring & prevention measures will rise dramatically. I do love these aspects of this epic project.
I wanted to give this 5 stars, but I've given it 4 due to more personal/philosophical reasons.
The pros will always outweigh the cons – no matter what. After typing all of this, I saved it and allowed it to “rest” for a while. In the interim, I thought more about the way I feel, and my opinion has not changed.
I thought about rating this 1 star, and I thought about giving it a rating of 5 stars. As I’ve stated, my problem is philosophical, not scientific.
Thank you again for all your demanding work. It is truly worth it in the long-run.

Plentiful Reports!

I love all the different reports provided by 23andMe (especially the Neanderthal report), and they are all very easy to understand! However, my three favorite features are the within the Ancestry Composition. Being able to see my ancestry timeline, and having an idea of how far back I would need to go to find a certain population is incredibly helpful! The Chromosome Painting is a great visual, especially when trying to determine how much of each ancestry was inherited by each parent. All very fascinating!

Very surprised by the amount of information obtained from DNA testing. Have already heard from a second cousin living in Sweden. Confirmed some information that was only rumor or whispers when I was a child.

The information and history given after paying over $100.00, was a total WASTE! Nothing at all but general info given.. it definitely looks like they faced a block! And let me knew I was from Neanderthal men!!! Bunch of nonsense!
