I feel you get info from surveys that you have the person do and what you return is not much and very hard to interpret.It was given to me as a gift.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. While there is a short ethnicity questionnaire that is associated with your profile information, these answers are not used to generate your ancestry results.
The data that we report is strictly genetic information regarding your genotype (e.g. the A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s at particular locations in your genome), generated through processing of your saliva by 23andMe. Participation in surveys is completely voluntary. Choosing not to participate will not affect your genetic data.
We also have several tutorials and FAQs listed in our Help Center: https://customercare.23andme.com/hc/en-us

DNA = Ancestry + Global Interconnection

Initially, I simply wanted to know how much of my DNA was African, Native American and European and how well it matched my family folklore. What I discovered was more than just that. I can see where my ancestors may have been and when they united. Interestingly, my favorite part was discovering my DNA relatives and far and wide they reach. It proves how interconnected we all are.
I would recommend this to a friend!

23andMe - Excellent Web Page Interface, but...

Of the three main DNA testing companies, 23andMe has the most pleasing appearance, however some of the better features are buried within menu boxes and can sometimes be hard to find, unless one id familiar and practiced in its use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Kit came faster than I thought it would, and my results didn't take to long. I found out that what I had been told my whole life was wrong so I'm so glad I did this. St. Patricks day has a whole new meaning now that I know I'm 50% Irish.
