HL-L8260CDW Much more than I expected

The HL-L8260CDW arrived in a well packed but easily opened carton. The directions for unpacking and initial set up were very clear with blow-up diagrams. It took several minutes to arrange a secure area to place the unit. It is a very solid (not heavy)and well made printer. The footprint fit well on top of a two drawer metal filing cabinet. I would not recommend those slight plastic cabinets with plastic casters.
The included CD made quick work of installing the drivers. I found a need for a WiFi extender although that has everything to do with the Fios router. After adding the extender, the printer was connected and up and running in less than five minutes.
The clarity of the graphics is excellent. B/W print is crisp and extremely fast. Color is rich and full. Photos look ok but not the primary use for this printer. While I doubt I`ll hit the 40,000 page monthly duty cycle, it worked flawlessly while completing a 1400 page, full color two-sided job. The duplex capability was quick and smooth.
Overall, I am more than pleased with the quality and attributes of the machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Brother HL-8260cdw business color laser printer is a great printer for a small business. Its size is compact and will fit well in a small office without taking up too much real estate. It holds about 300 sheets split between trays. I used it to print about 100 sheets a day with great print quality! The laser printer was good for my high volume small business printing.
Using toner rather than ink was cleaner and crisper. It only uses four cartridge that need to be replaced only when that color runs out. The printer is fast and quiet.
Setting up was pretty easy and standard having set up many printers before. I love the wireless printing ability. I can print from my computer, tablet and phone. It was easy to connect to my office network.
The only improvement would be a slightly smaller footprint. All in all this is a great, fast printer that would work well for everyday use in a home or small office.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quite Impressed

Over all I was quite impressed with this printer. There was no assembly, as such, and the instructions for removing all the packing materials were pictures, printed on the materials themselves. Making it very easy to understand in any language. The only minor difficulty was in finding the right USB cable. I`d love to see it included with the unit. But once it was secured, the computer connected and the CD inserted, set up was fast and easy. The wizard guided me through the process flawlessly. Within 10 minutes I was printing beautiful photos on the odd sized paper I had handy. My business invoices have never been so crisp and clear. Much more professional and much faster than the ink jet printer I will be retiring. I`m very pleased with it`s performance and happy to continue to put it through it`s paces.

This business class color laser printer is an ideal printer for those who want a dependable, consistent, feature rich, and flexible business workgroup printer. It is not only suited for small business (high output, long toner lifecycle, and multiple networking connectivity options) but also a great fit for a home user. I consider this class of printer a professional office grade product, with fantastic support and the reputation that Brother has established for itself in the Printer/scanner/fax machine world. Previous to this product, my experience with Brother International was mostly in the business class fax machine category. As an IT professional I have setup, used and supported many different business class workgroup laser printers by top manufacturers. This gives me an idea of what to expect from a product and to accurately compare and conclude my findings during the review phase.
Prior to receiving this product, I had high expectations from Brother. As I have grown to trust its brand in the printer/scanner/fax world. My initial impressions during the unboxing and setup phase was positive. The printer design and footprint are favorable. Specs and build quality were impressive. With a high yield toner cartridge option, and its high duty cycle, I expected great things during testing.
I was met pleasantly with its consistent print speed, and quality. Power consumption was good, printer noise level was about par with others in its class, although I found it to be a bit loud during printing for a home environment, but other than that, it was off to a good start.
During the network setup phase, I found this printer to be very user friendly and intuitive. It has a nice LCD display with logical placed and well prioritized button functions. Design and execution of its display and functions were top tier. Wifi setup was a breeze as it was all pretty much automatic with few user necessary inputs.
During its printing phase, it put out everything that i threw at it, with good speed, and great image/print quality. From printing documents in Black and white, to printing high resolution images in color, it delivered without a hitch. Duplex printing performed without incident. I also wanted to see if the Gigabit Lan setup was as easy as the Wifi setup, and it was.
Additionally I opted to install a few of the extra software utilities that were available from Brother to troubleshoot, test and manage its functionality in a workgroup networked environment. I administered the printer through a very simple and effective software tool called BRADMIN Pro. How well the printer carried out changes to its settings via the admin tool was an important factor to me, as this printer was designed to be used in a business office environment. There is also the Status monitor software which is included in the CD that comes with the printer. Its great for fast troubleshooting, and checking printer supply and status.
Overall from initial impressions, unboxing, physical setup, and print cycle testing, I honestly could not find anything to complain about. It made quick work of all print jobs that were thrown at it. Frankly, besides the noise while printing and a few seconds of delay when sending print jobs wirelessly (receiving data), i was satisfied that this product would provide years of reliable, consistent and cost effective printing duty in any small to medium size workgroup environment.
My favorite feature of this printer is definitely the mobile device direct printing capability (IOS air print and droid). No setup on the mobile device, just pick something and print it! seamless!
Overall I was very impressed from start to finish in my testing and review of this product. I am proud to have it in my home office for all my printing needs.

Business Presentation Ready Excels for Printing

STORAGE: I participated in a market research study and received this product to evaluate. I have a Home office with a few of us that utilize the printer on a daily basis alot and having one place designated for Printer only is Great! The space to the left of the large Desk out of the way has been wonderful as we have it set up on the Wireless network, preferred so we are not connecting Ethernet connectivity. It serves our space greatly and working environment.
ASSEMBLY: Assembly was good. Two people is better than one.
We needed two people to lift and attach and assemble the printer it was very easy to assemble once we got going on the instructions from the video . The instructions on the video tell you step by step how to assemble and are slow enough to understand.
I am sure with ambition the assembly of this printer could be done by a single person if needed.

STABILITY: The stand and area we designated it at next to the desk is very stable. We have no worries about it toppling over or falling apart. It is a oak like looking stand mostly made of partial board I am sure, it is not an incredibly solid but the printer looks good and is very solid on it.It will work excellent even when bumped it is heavy enough to not fall or tip over as it should fulfill our purpose for our home office needs greatly.
PROBLEMS: I really didn`t see any problems that were concerning. We print photo`s at times on our printouts and the photo quality can be excellent or okay. Labels if you do not print a very very large job the color ink is good. Also does have a delay in printing but that is with any printer. Overall good.
PROS: This laser color printer has a very good rapid output for quality and for the text and graphics printing speed very fast and effectively. It is a great medium-duty printer to use in a small or micro office or our work groups. It offers a wide range of connection choices, we use the WiFi and also our smartphone devices which are great and easy to use. Also good paper handling and this printer supports Google Cloud Print, and works with the Brother i Print &Scan app, which we love on our desk top as well as our smart phone devices. We are very happy with it for our office needs.
PRICE: Reasonably priced, fast, text and graphics look good, a perfect match for a small company or home business or small work group or micro office would recommend.

This printer is a very nice printer for a small office, that has separate machines for different functions. It prints extremely well. Printing is clear, color is vibrant. It is very quiet, warms up quickly, and prints fairly fast. It`s WIFI capabilities make it an extremely user-friendly machine, by letting you print from several wireless devices. That is one of my favorite features. Set up was simple, and required almost no effort, maybe 10 minutes from box to printing. Set up instructions were extremely clear and simple to follow. In comparison to other printers I have used in the past, this was a breeze. As far as the quality of the printing, it far exceeded my expectations. It was able to print thin lines, thick lines, graphics and charts without smearing the print or having the lines run together. Exceptional quality printing.
The only thing that I would suggest that could be improved upon would be the fact that you cannot make copies or do scanning into your computer from this machine. I understand that it is a stand-alone machine, as it only does printing. The area where our office machines are is quite compact, meaning there is not a lot of room for a lot of standalone machines. It works better for us if we have one machine that will do printing, copying and scanning.

Brother Color Laser printer

Setup: Unit is quite heavy but does not take up too much space.Was well packed and easy to get out of the box with help due to weight of printer.Would like more if lighter. Everything came included in the box accept the USB chord. Love the fact everything is included. Very convenient. I assume no USB chord is a mistake on companies part.Once the unit was set in place. It was very easy to remove all packaging and set up ink to run.Love how the ink rolls out so easy and all the cartridges are sitting right there to see and replace when needed. Also nice and easy to load paper into tray.Connecting printer to my computer and WiFi: This was a bit of a nightmare. It took me about an hour to get the printer going. This was very inconvenient. I think there were multiple problems maybe, between computer, printer and router. After multiple troubleshooting tasks, I finally got it going. There still seems to be a problem with the printer and my computer staying connected but printer seems to stay connected with my Ipad. This is very inconvenient. But I do love the fact that multiple devices can connect to printer.Print quality: It prints very fast and does multiple copies with no problem. I think it is really cool how it prints 2 sides.The print on paper looks Ok but does not seem to have the same color pop as my other printer.Appearance: I like the easy and advanced look of the control panel on printer. I also like the way and where printed paper is held.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
