Great and sharp color.

This printer is a good performer so far. The color and sharpness is exceptional. The only issue we have is that it does not take envelopes well for printing. They get badly mangled through the printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great machine. Good upgrade from previous version: faster and quieter. Only picky point is that is seems slower to start up when i send a file to be printed.

Great basic color laser printer

I'm happy with this purchase. It's not the fastest, but it's good enough - does what it says it'll do, good size, reasonable toner cost (not that color laser toner is reasonably price to begin with), and fast enough for my home/small biz needs. I have a B&W MFC Brother laser printer for my main use, otherwise, I'd be harsher on this (or any color laser due to the cost to operate them). For my color needs, it's great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. REMOVE PACKING MATERIALS: Using the Quick Setup Guide, I removed the packing materials and loaded the paper in the paper tray. I liked that the plastic packing materials were orange, so they were easy to spot and remove. It was also very easy to remove the packing materials from the paper tray and load the paper.
CONNECT POWER: Next, I connected the power cord, found the power button and pressed it to turn it on.
CONNECT PRINTER TO COMPUTER: The instructions recommend configuring wireless settings from the computer, so I proceeded to put the installation disc into my disc drive. It would not automatically connect. I had to use the alternative wireless setup in Step 7. This didn`t work either, so I followed the instructions on the Setup Wizard shown on my computer screen and used my USB cable to temporarily connect after which I was able to disconnect the USB cable and finish the setup. This finally worked and now it is wirelessly connected!
CONNECT PRINTER TO MOBILE DEVICE: I downloaded the Brother iPrint and Scan app on my iPhone so I can print from my phone. My phone had trouble finding the printer. So then, I realized I needed to turn on my phone`s WiFi and Bluetooth after which it was able to find it. I could then print from my phone.
PRINT QUALITY: I printed a photo from my phone and the colors were very vivid and true to life. I am very pleased with the results. I also printed documents from my desktop computer, and they are sharp and excellent.
PROBLEMS: I really didn`t encounter any problems except issues resulting from my own stupidity such as not having the WiFi or Bluetooth on my phone when I initially tried to pair the printer and phone. Once I turned those on, I had no problem. When connecting the printer to my desktop computer, it was not as easy as connecting automatically. I had to troubleshoot and use a USB cable to temporarily connect first before it would connect wirelessly. I don`t know what I would have done if I didn`t have a USB cable. However, in the end, everything is connected and everything works!

This is the first laser printer I have ever used. Overall it was easy to setup. The quick set up guide was very helpfull. I was having trouble getting my Wi-Fi to connect, the alternative wireless set up got me connected.
I really like the fact that it is wireless. Therefore there is no need to have it close to your computer, to hook up to a USB port. It just needs to be near a electrical outlet, the power cord is plenty long. It has two paper trays, which comes in handy. You can put copy paper in the bottom tray, use the top tray for envelopes and thicker paper. Control panel is easy to use and figure out. You can sign up for Brother refresh, which detects when your printer is running low on ink. Then automatically orders the correct ink and ships it to your home or offic.
The initual start up to print takes a few seconds, but once it gets going it prints pretty fast.
The printer is very large and heavy. That limits the space you can place it.
Overall I really like the laser printer vesus an Ink Jet. Prints much more clean and sharp.

Overall......Very Good Product

This product was easy to take out of the box, easy to lift out and place on my desk. It was also easy to set up, the directions were easy to follow, and get the machine working quickly. I had the machine out of the box, setup, and working within 20-25 minutes. Setting it up to my WI-FI network was very easy as well. As far as printing, it is fast, quiet, and easy to use. My copies look clean, sharp, and easy to read.
One con about the product. For some reason, during the first week of use, it kept disconnecting from my WI-FI network. But, the customer service people at BROTHER were, in a word, FANTASTIC!!! Every time I have called there, there were pleasant and professional, going out of their way to make sure any issue was resolved. I love that FREE LIFETIME Customer Service comes with this product!
I am a REALTOR, so I need a machine that is fast, efficient, and cost effective. I print possibly hundreds of copies in a week. I have put this machine to a very rigorous test, and it PASSED with FLYING COLORS!!!!!! This is one of the best home style printers I have ever used! And as a bonus, it appears replacement ink is also very well priced compared to other models I have looked at.
I LOVE this printer, LOVE Customer Service!!!!!!
