Sonicare Floss Pro Item keeps failing.

Unit #1 worked for 2 weeks and failed. Shop owner exchanged it and #2 worked for 2 weeks and died the same death, same problem. It is great while it woks, but not worth the money for 2 weeks use.

Flosser frequently stops running without warning

I've only been using this about 1 week and already it is showing 2 problems. In the middle of flossing, it will stop working. The power light goes off and will not turn it on again. I found that placing the flosser on its charging stand and then plugging in the charger the power button green light comes back on. I then remove the flosser and it will then start.
The 2nd problem is that sometimes the pump starts cycling very fast when I press the activation button; kind of like a WW2 machine gun sound. I try to press the activation button quickly (I only want a single squirt) but I get several rapid squirts before I can remove my finger from the activation button.
Aside from the above, it cleans well -- when it works.
Pros: cleans well.
Cons: shuts down without warning;, pump sometimes cycles rapidly instead of 1 cycle

Love the Product,Wish it were more dependable

I love this product but Philips has not gotten the kinks out of it. I have had it replaced three times in about eight months. I am not misusing or abusing the product. I only use Philips' mouth rinse in it and have not dropped it or otherwise damaged it. The dentist raves about the results it is producing, but I think Philips will not replace it a forth time!
Pros: great dental results
Cons: very low durability

Good alternative to string floss. Works very well. This is the 2nd unit as the 1st one stopped working after 6 days. Have had the 2nd one for 3 weeks and works well.
Pros: easy to use, no string floss, mouth feels fresh
Cons: 1st one stopped working after 6 days

Essential for bridgework

The oral surgeon recommended by my dentist removed the gum around my dental implants, and the threads of the implant are visible. Unless I go through painful gum surgery, I have to live with the condition. The Philips Sonicare flossed has saved my teeth. I use it two to three times a day to keep my bridges and the implant clean. I charge it before trips, and it lasts until I return. It's easy to stow in a bag. Please don't remove this product!
Pros: much easier to use than a waterpik, keeps gums healthy, portable
Cons: using mouthwash in the flosser limits its life

Clarify to consumer that only water can be put in the "well."

You cannot put any liquid inside the well other than water. The alcohol in other liquid products such as Listerine will cause it to stop working. Try rinsing out the well and the nozzle and it will start again. Great idea as a replacement for flossing, Philips just needs to warn the consumer regarding "use WATER only."

I loved using the Sonicare Airflosser it worked great but broken after only using for a couple of weeks. The head part of the unit snapped off making it so that I couldn't use it. Really poor design. Wish it would have worked longer
Cons: broke

Do Not Use with mouthwash that contains alcohol
on March 24, 2015

I have always used string floss, but after I got braces it is so hard to do. I bought the airfloss to help with debris removal between the teeth and between the braces and bands. The airfloss does a great job. I have had my regular check ups and cleaning while wearing the braces and there have been no problems and no bleeding gums. I did not know I wasn't supposed to use mouthwash that had alcohol in it. It says in the owner's booklet, but I didn't notice it. My dentist TOLD me to use regular Listerine (that has alcohol). Alcohol corrodes the internal workings of the airfloss, according to Phillips. My airfloss stopped working and Phillips was good enough to replace the handle for me. The reservoir cover is a little flimsy and doesn't hold a lot. It isn't a lot of trouble to refill. I love it and will use it after the braces come off along with regular flossing.
Pros: quick easy it works
Cons: low volume reservoir flimsy cover
