Good setup could use a few up grades

Great backup...

I've used this battery pack as a backup when camping. Great for a power source with the LED light. I've also used this to charge my iPhone. The only drawback is the weight with you are being weight conscious for backpacking. Every once counts and 4 AA batteries can add that extra weight.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A campers dream

The solar panel is light weight, and does a decent job charging the guide 10. It does not do well charging in inconsistent sunlight. I recently broke off one of the rope loops that are placed around it. The battery pack charges great when plugged I to a computer or power source and holds a good charge. It is great to bring on long day trips when you know your phone will need a recharge.

Very Handy if You bring Extra Batteries

This works well especially if you bring extra chargeable batteries. You can then use the battery pack several times to charge stuff before you have to charge all the batteries again again. This is the solution I found worked well when I know it will be long periods between sunlight sessions with the solar panel.

Why didn't anyone think of this earlier. Not only can you use the great NMIH batteries that come with this unit but in a pinch you can purchase some standard Alkaline AA's or AAA's! This is a must have back-up power supply for phones and as a bonus, it lights up your world!
