I purchased this product for a cycling trip. Solar charging was not an option so I charged multiple sets of NIMH batteries. I found that one set would charge up my Garmin and my phone and still have a bit left over.

Good battery charger for AA or AAA cells. Not so good as a power source for charging cell phones or other devices. Don't plan to charge multiple sets of AA or AAA batteries and then stick them back in the unit to use at night or on cloudy days. Unit needs to "top off" AA or AAA cells (and get to "charged" status) before unit can be used to charge other electronics (like cell phones).

I bought this for an annual camping trip. It is great for charging electronics when there isn't a convenient power source. My only disappointment was the lack of charging on overcast and/or rainy days. But that is really an uncontrollable issue.

Honestly, this has become exactly what I wanted/needed, without my knowing about it until I had it. I have used it for recharging my phone and iPod for the most part. Going on a trip, even just a day trip, it is handy for any quickly needed charges due to using my phone too much (You know, Facebook status updates, calls for information, taking pictures at places that you want to remember or share). Or if you have the kind of car stereo that does not connect to your phone or MP3 player through a USB type of port, you can use this to charge up as you need as well. I also have an EDC bag, so I carry it in there for whenever I need to charge up something. Very handy, easily portable, and like I said, I have no idea how I got along without it before I had it.

I use my Guide 10 battery pack everyday to backup my cell phone, small tablet and, if needed, my GPS. I like that I can also feed charged batteries into it to as an interface with these devices on a long trip or where there simply is no power. The LED light has saveed me several times...looking for a key hole in a strange building in a strange city...and so many other uses. This product defines versatility and I love its design that allows so many ways to be useful!
