i own many different batteries with usb ports for charging other devices and this one is one of my better ones for mainly its size and AA and AAA compatability. my most powerful battery is a 12500 mha battery this is the equivalent of around 9000mha. i mainly use this to go camping to charge my phone, my bolt focus, and my digital camera on short trips i dont take any solar pannels just this. when i go skiing my phone tends to roam in some areas that drains the battery i use this to charge it back up i used two of these on a power outage that my family experienced

Great to have with you at all times. Charging your phone or use the batteries in another device. Be careful how you buy it. I bought it on sale and it came in a box with no cables or individual packaging Like it was packaged in someone's garage.

I have owned the guide 10 recharger for a year and love it! A rechargable USB power supply, AA, AAA recharger and flashlight in one. Small and light weight yet rugged. I take it everywhere.

I bought this as a back up battery pack for my IPhone while on the go, but I found so much more uses for it. It will power up any device that has a USB cord, so I am able to recharge my GPS watch, recharge my iPod, and of course my iPhone. This is a must have product for your trail bag when heading for a ultra running weekend.

the best thing i like about the guide 10 is the fact you can switch out the batteries with fully charged ones so when the suns not shining but you still need more power you can use a spare set you carry with you to double your power. its got a light to look for your cables. takes AAA if you swing that way or need to charge up a couple. gotta love the little cable on the back for a lanyard. its a tight little package too. how can you not love this thing???

The Guide 10 Plus Power Pack is a must have!

The GoalZero Guide 10 Plus Recharger is a handy source of power that fits in your pocket. With it you can keep you cell phone, GPS, or other essential devices powered up for the long haul. The Guide 10 Plus is a small power pack that holds four AA or AAA rechargeable batteries and has a USB port that can be used to recharge your device. I use my Guide 10 to keep my smart phone and GPS recharged while traveling, attending outdoor events, or hiking. I take the Guide 10 Plus everywhere I go. In my car I connect a cell phone charger to my Guide 10, then connect the Guide 10 output to the cell phone. The Guide 10 and phone both stay charged while driving, and the Guide 10 will keep the phone charged if the car is not running. At my destination I take the Guide 10 Plus and phone with me for long lasting power.
The power pack itself can be recharged from the USB port on a computer, a USB hub, or a cell phone charger with a mini-USB plug. GoalZero also offers several small rugged solar panels that will keep the Guide 10 Plus charged. My first Guide 10 came in a kit with a Nomad 7 solar panel. You can use the Guide 10 and solar panel as a charger for the AA or AAA rechargeable batteries that power your portable radios, walkie-talkies, and flashlights. I also use mine to charge the batteries for my UV water purifier. I now own three Guide 10 Plus Rechargers and two Nomad 7 solar panels.

iPad Mini charging

I was pleasantly surprised on the performance of the Guide 10 Plus charging an iPad Mini. Reading other reviews with the full size iPads I was not expecting much. The iPad Mini, from a dead battery, charged to 33% in about 80-90 minutes. A mini will run a long time on 33%!
The only down side of the Guide 10 is I believe the quality is kind of cheap. It would not take much to make this product truly robust.
