Beware

I do like this microwave and it operates perfectly however I have only had this unit for a couple of months and the lightbulb went out. Seems like a simple fix but believe me it is not. We have to take out the entire unit to replace the bulb. Ridiculous. Whoever engineered this should be fired. Needless to say I won’t have a light in my microwave any time soon. Shame on GE

Easy use

So easy to use. The oven functions walks you through the features. It’s like a smart phone. Convention oven size is great for smaller dishes. We do have to remember to use glass container. The steel interior is easy to wipe down and the look of the unit is very seek and modern. We are very happy with our choice. GE brand has not failed us for 17 years, which was the age of our last appliances in kitchen. They didn’t break down, we chose to replace with newer ones.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What’s up with the clock feature?

The whole point of having a clock on the unit is to have the ability to see what time it is. The sleep after 30 seconds feature is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. People don’t want to have to cross their entire kitchen to open the microwave door or touch the panel in order to make the clock light up just to see what time it is! The clock should be used exactly for that, A CLOCK. What an amazing concept of being able to look up and see what time it is. Maybe GE can come up with something like…oh, manually add water to the automatic ice maker in their refrigerator freezers so that it saves energy. Thanks GE for having a clock feature that sleeps.

Needs new program buttons

I upgraded to Cafe from GE Profile series. The buttons on this microwave is not efficient. You have to sit and hit +30 seconds A LOT if you want 12 + minutes of cooking or sit there and turn the dial forever. This microwave needs a number pad to make programing the time easier. Because the door opens forward (not sideways) it is a real struggle to clean the back wall. Ours is above the built in oven and we cannot reach back wall of microwave because of the door design. Wish I could go back to Profile series. Not happy with this product and do NOT recommend it. There is also NO instruction for the convection option. I have tried to find information online and it is not available; therefore, we never use the convection option. Very disappointing for the price.

We love our new microwave oven. Cooks food evenly without any hot spots and perfectly cooked scalloped potatoes using the convection oven.

I've had this product for almost a month. So far I've only used the microwave portion not the convection part that's why I'm removing a star as I can't rate what I haven't used. The microwave portion works well, heats evenly and fast. Very pleased with the purchase so far.
