Doesn’t last

After 5 years microwave doesn’t work. Must be electrical screen is off sometimes it comes back on but can’t use it now I have to replace it but it probably won’t be with this one. We had ALL GE profile appliances throughout our kitchen.

Great Microwave

Bought this microwave to replace a very old Advantium which finally became un-repairable. I wanted many of the same features but knew I didn’t need certain ones I never used like the programmable recipes. This one serves my purpose very well and cooks even better than the old Advantium. The only problem was that it doesn’t come in white to match all of my other appliances so I had to get stainless steel. Otherwise I’m very happy with it.

Very disappointed!

We did a complete kitchen make-over with all GE Profile Slate appliances. I am EXTREMELY unhappy with the performance of this microwave/convection oven. After two ruined dinners, I purchased an oven thermometer and found that the convection oven was actually 100 degrees lower than the desired temperature, whether baking or roasting. Repair service was called, came out, ordered parts (which took TWO months to arrive) and the new parts did not fix the problem. Expressing our dissatisfaction to the appliance store, they generously replaced our microwave with a brand new one. Guess what ... the new microwave suffers from the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. It is 100 to 125 degrees less than the selected bake/roast temperature! What a great disappointment after spending an astounding amount of money for this worthless appliance.

A few issues

Previous built in microwave above my wall.oven opened to the side rather than door opening downward which makes placing anything inside requiring stretching across the 13" into to microwave difficult, especially for my 5'4" daughter. Also issues with steam accumulating inside while cooking despite the fact the fan appear s to be working. Attractive but had few options in slate to match other appliances including the wall.oven below it, but not as functional as my previous built in microwave located in same position which I replaced during a kitchen remodel.

Replaced Existing GE Advantium Unit

This unit was installed as a replacement for another GE Advantium unit. We needed it to match the other Advantium appliances we had. I ordered a black unit, but when it was installed, in my mind is was not even close to black, it looks gray. Big disappointment and our kitchen has this thing in our kitchen now (the new unit), that everyone's eyes go to immediately to because it doesn't fit. It would be nice for GE to stick with what they call black across their product lines or at least through a series line of production. The unit works okay although I have to say initially the control panel was not responding correctly. Even the installer said it wasn't working properly. We kept messing with it and it finally started to work. So hopefully that lasts. I can't recommend this unit to someone who is thinking they are buying a unit that looks black. It is gray!

Love our new GE Cafe microwave and convection oven

Just completed a first floor remodel with completely renovated kitchen. Chose GE Cafe appliances. Microwave/convection oven works great and looks terrific stacked above the wall oven. Quiet and easy to use. Love it!

Not worth the money

Cooks good, but can only use 15 sec intervals for heating food. Also, hard to get food out of oven when mounted high in cabinets, because the door opens like an oven, instead of from the side. Also, can't figure out how to get the clock to display at at all times.
