My life is easier using the Breville Smart Air Fryer Pro - BOV900

My husband and I brought Air Fryer model - BOV900. My first initial reaction in using this Breville Air Fryer was wow! I have used an Air Fryer (different brand) prior to buying this unit, so, I was familiar on how to cook with one.
My first try was to bake ChefSteps Amazing Chewy Bagels (see picture.) Oh boy! The bagels baked beautifully and the taste delish! The flavor tasted like the smell when baking the bagels. It doesn't get any better than that! They were not too chewy nor did it have a cake texture. Thanks ChefSteps, for giving me the best bagel recipe and how to bake in the Air Fryer Pro.
Air Fryer Chicken thighs as you can see from the picture below, delicious. The cooking time is shortened when using the Air Fryer Pro allowing me to prepare other dishes.
Bake a Chocolate Sheet cake so moist and not dried around the edges of the sheet. See pictures.
Bake chocolate chip cookies I used the Cookie Setting what a wonderful function set the temp and the timer and your in business!
Air Fryer pork chops the result the chops were moist not dried out. Used a temp probe to cook the internal temp to my preference. Depending on the thickness of the chop the cooking time may vary.
The last item Rice Pudding (my favorite) had to tried this in the Air Fryer Oven. The results, delicious and prefect!

This is my third Breville. My first went to my best friend when I upgraded. I recommended the small one to another friend who bought one for a small kitchen and is waiting for the one she has to die in her motor coach to get another one for there. Another friend went with my recommendation and got the mid-size for her kitchen, and a third friend got the small one as well. They all love them and can't agree with me more that this is the BEST little oven ever. (can't even call it a toaster oven, because it does so much else) I have the air fryer pro now and of course love it. I have kept my mid-size Breville, although a friend wanted to buy it, and I put it in the garage for when I need an extra oven during parties or holidays. I really can't say enough about these Brevilles.

The oven is excellent, however, the instructions for toast are just wrong and have given me no end of grief including the return of two ovens. The fact that the center upper elements do not heat for toast is a failure for toasting. Bread must be in the front or back and it takes an unbearable amount of time to toast. This is not rocket science and should be corrected to make a perfect product. The smaller older units do toast perfectly. Toast that tales 7 or 8 minutes to do is dried out. Toasting should be a quick sear to brown the outside and leave the inside soft. This unit could do it. Please attend to this issue.

Doesn't Get Enough Love

I just purchased my third Breville Oven. First one was a basic oven that I dropped and broke. Second one upgraded to the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro and had it for a year and half and it died. This oven is underrated and doesn't get enough love. It truly is a versatile oven. I have used it from everything from whole chickens, pizza, meatloaf, burgers and fries. I even used the dehydrated feature. Hubby likes to use it daily for his bagels. It is definitely is used in our kitchen many times a day and one we can not live without. Hope this one lasts longer than the previous.

Have Used a Breville Smart Oven for 12 Years!!

I absolutely love this new version with Air Fryer Pro of the Smart Oven; I used the largest Smart Oven available at the time (5/2010) as a substitute oven for our small bed & breakfast. It was a lifesaver due to our regular gas/convection oven awaiting an igniter repair. I now have the Smart Over Air Fryer Pro which was gifted to us at Christmas and have used our kitchen gas convection oven only 3 times in 5 months.

Fan stopped working, now it’s useless!

Fan stopped working in less than 2 years of use. It’s a common issue with this oven. Without the fan, it’s basically useless and can only be used as a toaster nothing else. I’m very disappointed with Breville. I was expecting more lifetime from a product with such a price tag. Please don’t waste your money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After doing a ton of research I decided on this bad boy and it has been even better than I had hoped for! Everything I put in comes out perfectly cooked. I love the proofing option for taking the guesswork out of my sourdough. I was initially worried about the size but since getting it I haven't had to use my regular size oven range at all!
