I bought a different Breville Toaster Oven earlier and was thrilled with it. I then found this model which added air frying. I had to have it. I gave my earlier model to a friend and they were also very happy with the unit.

Start button quits working

We've purchased two of these (Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, Brushed Stainless Steel, BOV900BSS) since 10/26/2022. Both worked for a while and then the start button quit working correctly. Both times the screen on both units displays a two line code, first line = 120, second line = 9067. The thing is that we really like the unit and want one that will keep working, given the cost.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this oven a month ago and I am very happy with it. This oven replaces a previous Breville oven, which was a bit smaller, and did not have the air fry feature. I had the previous oven for about 10 years. It was starting to have some minor issues, although it still functioned. I am very pleased with the new oven, particularly with the fact that it can accommodate a 9 x 13 baking dish. I have not had a chance to try out the air fryer feature yet. I highly recommend this oven to anyone.

I purchased this oven to reduce the amount of use I place on my kitchen oven. So far, I have been impressed with the versatility of this appliance. While my first oven had an issue with intermittent "E06" errors at high temperatures, Breville's support team quickly assisted me in replacing my oven. Since receiving my replacement, I have had not issues with it. I primarily use the Bake, Roast, Toast, Broil, Pizza, Proofing, and some Air Frying functions. I have been very happy with the size of the oven which allows me to use even my over-sized 9X13 baking dishes! The top of the oven does get hot, but I have found that this is an awesome plate warmer while you are cooking your meals! This oven has definitely met my needs, as I wanted to reduce the amount of broiling, I was doing with my large oven! Some improvements I would like to see in future versions would be: 1) Insulation ring around the front door and a vent port for steam. 2) Add clock to the display 3) Better quality pans with the oven would be great, 4) Adding a cookbook be it printed or digital on your website is a must. 5) a self-cleaning function would be awesome! Otherwise, this is a very capable appliance, that has become my go to for any meal of the day!

Great Oven While it Lasted. Buyer Beware

I loved this oven and never used my stove oven. Yesterday something happened to the function buttons and they stopped working. The start button turns on the oven but I can't adjust to the temperature or how I want to bake, roast, broil, or toast ect. I have had it for 3 years and the price I paid I thought for sure it would last longer then that. Don't think I will be buying another one .Right now I am upset.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First gen still works great, and this one is even better!

We've had the first gen Smart Oven for several years, using it daily for just about anything. The only aspect that limited our use was interior space. Now with the Air Fryer Pro, we can cook anything that our oven would do, better, and with less energy consumption. That's also less heating the whole house in the summer - another advantage to these efficient, small form-factor ovens.
Though we used the first gen daily, it doesn't seem like it will wear out anytime soon. So we'll keep it around, or donate it to a family member. This is one of the best values in kitchen appliances - ever.
