Defective Model - Doesn't start timer after you open & close oven door.

Initially I received a defective product. The timer wouldn't start when I would open and close the door after preheating, which caused the oven to turn off after ~5 minutes. I notified breville and they provided me another oven ASAP; I do appreciate their fast response. But the replacement oven is just a software update to start the timer as soon as preheating is done. It doesn't wait for me to open & close the oven door to start the timer. I would avoid this model until they fix whatever hardware/software issue is causing the problem.

I’ve been very surprised at the versatility of the BOSA 900. I love the size and frankly I’ve given my convection microwave a vacation since I first used this oven. It keeps the temperature and even it’s program settings are flexible. I think I found a way to cook all SUMMER without having to strip in the kitchen or pay extra to my electric company

My Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro is the best kitchen appliance I have ever had. It is precise. I use it several times a day to cook my Whole Food Plant-Based Diet. I have owned many air fryers, and this outperforms any I have ever had. Tent the Red Cabbage & Broccoli and Asparagus tips to keep from burning. Put in a 1/2 head of Cauliflower with 1/4 Onions & Potato flesh side up. Sweet Potato cut rounds, and this fryer cooks fast, keeping in flavor as you have never tasted.100% natural with no oils needed about 22-24 Minutes @ 480 degrees. Air Fryer function stopped working after 5 months

I bought the Smart Oven Air in early April 2020 and the air fryer function stopped working in mid September 2020. I turned the knobs to Air Fryer function but the fan only run 1 second and stopped.

Shame on you, still using PFTE in 2024

As much as I love the Breville brand, this oven continues using carcinogenic chemicals PFTE on its nonstick coating. Be aware, the only way of using PFTE safely is NOT TO SCRATCH its coating whatsoever, meaning when you insert/remove the trays, you need to absolutely make sure the edge of the trays are NOT touching the inside walls at all. Otherwise, every single scratch will cause millions of PTFE molecules in your food. Breville, are you listening? Please change your coating material. Stainless steel is fine. I’d rather spending more time cleaning than getting cancer from cookware, thanks.

Not a good investment!

The smart oven air fryer pro Initially worked great, but after only 2 years it started having issues. The door when closing by default leaves an open gap, no longer fully closing without it being pushed. Even when the door is closed, the steam still seeps through the corners of the oven. Leaving stains all around that area. The heating has become unreliable, leaving my food cooked unevenly. I’ve had a Breville smart oven in a different model before this one and it worked great for many years. Wish I could say the same for this one, but unfortunately I can not. I spent so much money on this product and wished it would last me a longer time.
