Some good and some not so good

I started out buying the Breville 800XL. It was amazing and the toasting was as close to perfect as I've seen. Actually, I didn't have any issues with it. It simply turns out I bought the wrong one. I was looking for the air fryer (and then the dehydrator) options. I stepped up to the Breville 900. The Breville 900 air fryer option is amazing. My wife and I loved it. The dehydrator has been nice but needing 8+ hours to complete, is a bit much for me. The most disappoint is the toasting option. It seems to have taken a hit. We've tried moving the rack up & down. Doing so shows a slight improvement to which ever side is now closer to the heating elements. After trying several different breads to be sure it wasn't something with the types of bread. Trying several different darkness settings and moving the rack up and down. I can't help but think the toasting feature has taken a hit by including the extra features of air frying and dehydrating. Personally, my morning toast and my wife's air fried potatoes are more important than anything dehydrated. So I am going to take a step down and give the Breville 860 a try. Overall, I do like the Breville products and would recommend them to anyone who asks. I would just be sure to let them know, there seems to be a bit of give and take.

Love It

I was looking for a good Counter Top Fryer/Oven/Toaster for the house. About 3 years ago, I purchase a Breville Oven for the Breakroom area for a 45 person Guard Force. They loved the one they got, and after 3 years of daily use, it is still going strong. So I decided to go with Breville for my home, and I was not disappointed. Pizza's and fries come out great. Doing cheesy bread is easier, and Air Frying chicken is simple. Needed additional mess baskets for how much we use the Air Fryer setting. Opened and set up on Christmas day 2019, ours has been used almost every single day. I will be purchasing more Breville's in the future.

Love Breville products, but be prepared to replace the Smart Oven every 4 years!

I have quite a few Breville products in my kitchen, but my favorite has been the Smart Oven. I first purchased a smart oven in 2013 (which died in 2017). Then, in 2017 I purchased the BOV900BSS (Smart Oven Air). Again, it was a great product while it lasted. The start button recently stopped working (2021). I really enjoyed the capacity of this oven. The ability to toss a 9x13 in it made meal prep much easier. I'm rating it at "one star" only because of the lack of life span. Hopefully, this helps someone make a more informed decision while shopping the many options the internet has to offer. I would recommend it to a friend with the caveat of "expect it crash at the 4 yr mark".

Door failed after only 2 years

I’ve had the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro for 2 years. During this time, it worked fine in a 2-person household. I’ve used it for toasting bread daily and occasionally to roast vegetables. It has not been abused irresponsibly (i.e. by unsupervised children) or used in an unintended manner (liked a commercial kitchen). After only 2 years, the door has failed. After closing the oven door, it does not remain closed. It remains open during operation, leaving a gap, which allows for heat to escape via the gap. The heat that has leaked via the gap has left burn stains in the corners of the oven frame and on the sides of the door. Moreover, the heating has become inconsistent, leading to unevenly cooked food. Lastly, the door does not open gently anymore. It falls down when opening. Please see attached pics for reference. I would not recommend this product unfortunately due to its door failure only after 2 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don’t recommend

I have purchased this same smart oven twice now. The first oven lasted me exactly two year and I purchased another one because I was happy with all of the options the smart oven gave me but my second smart oven pro broke at exactly the two year mark as well. It has given me an “E06” error anytime I want to turn it on to use. I was given the option to pay for repairs or get a new one at full price. For the amount that these ovens, they should last way longer than two years. I am really disappointed and will not be purchasing anything made by breville in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Function Knob Problems

While this oven is fantastic for cooking, getting it tot he desired function can be a real problem. After about 4 months ours has started to only scroll down and unplugging it is the only way tto solve this problem making it effectively useless. I have the 870XL espresso machine and we bought this because we liked their products so much, however this one hurts. I will post a follow up when they fix the problem.

Elevan months and problems bloom

The Smart Oven Air has been wonderful until two weeks ago, (11months and 2 weeks old), now the door will not shut. Problem with the hinge and when I am able to shut the door, the air fryer mode time keeps blinking and shuts off early and doesn't cook the food. So greatly disappointment.

So happy about this oven!

I researched, watched review videos, top 5 air fryer videos, and could not pull the trigger on a purchase because of price. Well, you get what you pay for people! This oven is quiet as a mouse. No pulling out a drawer and flipping my potatoes. Just nice even heating and i can check on food through the glass door with the light. I guess they have to tell you the outside gets very hot. But I have hovered my hand over all sides of the oven during air frying and find it to be comfortable and not harmful to my cabinets. I also read reviews and was impressed by customer service compliments. I bought extra air fry baskets because I use that function a lot. I’m looking forward to exploring the other functions as well. I’m really impressed with the quality of this oven and I’ve used it every day since my purchase. VERY HAPPY!!
