This was a replacement for our 6 year old Breville Air Fryer Pro that suffered an irreparable error code. We love our Breville and use it more than our microwave or range. It has so many great settings.

Doesn't Last Long

I bought my oven in September 2020 and it is now April 17, 2023 and it is useless. A few months ago the door started becoming very hard to shut. But now it is even worse. The door "flops" open. There is no tension on it at all .. If pulled it goes banging on the countertop. This oven is about half the price of a full-size kitchen oven and I did expect it to last longer than 2-1/2 years. I am so disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Disappointed

I purchased the Breville smart oven And it seems to be a very nice unit and is not in expensive. I have never purchased an item of this quality that did not come with a cookbook. It’s mine boggling to think that Breville will sell you something like this, and not at least include a cookbook so that you can have some recipes to try. They’re more than happy to sell you one though. I would give this five stars for the oven, but for the lack of something as simple as a cookbook needs to be addressed.

Thank you for your feedback. You may use this oven for any recipe that you may use for a full-sized oven. However, we do have recipes available both through the oven's web page on our website, and through our Food Thinkers website.

Overall I am happy but very disappointed that it does not toast, you have to turn your bread over to toast both sides, we bought this because our last unit did the same thing, extremely disappointed, this unit was not cheap and now I have to add a real toaster to my countertop

Thank you for your review and feedback. Inherent in the design of a toaster oven appliance, in comparison to a traditional upright toaster, is that the toast is in effect laying on a wire rack, and free of obstruction on the top. The wire rack naturally deflects a significant amount of radiant heat, and therefore toasting less than the top of the bread, which is exposed to the heating elements without the rack in the way.

I have been contemplating this oven purchase for a long time. It is not a purchase I made in the absence of considering its cost. In the running were the Joule and the Air Fryer Pro. We chose the latter believing it would meet our needs. Felt we were not in need of as much "cooking assistance" as the Joule offers. We love this oven! It functions perfectly and delivers an admiral job with the normal requirements of cooking and excels in the more exacting temperature maintenance required for confection/bread baking in which more exacting temperature maintenance turns out the best product. A less expensive oven can be purchased but this product is a joy and this budget-conscious woman does not regret the splurge.

Does a lot of things to make it easy to make a meal

Haven't had a chance to use all of the options yet, but the ones I have used make it easy to create a meal. Disappointed in the fact that after spending all of that money on the oven, it didn't come with even a little 'how to' book with some recipes for all of the options.

We've been a Breville household for almost 20 years. When we started talking about air fryers the initial idea of the Air Fryer Pro was easy. The only complication was that our Breville 800XL was only 7 years old and working just fine ... but the added features and larger capacity finally won us over, and are we glad it did!
1) The larger capacity means we can make cobblers in our 9X13 glass bake dishes instead of being limited to the 9X9 ... Whoopie!
2) The Air Fryer is OUTSTANDING! Battered Shrimp, Chicken Legs, Fries ... they are all beyond description, and crispy without the oils or calories.
3) You can actually bake cookies on multiple levels at the same time with even heat and great "big oven" results.
