This is easily the best and worst oven I have owned

I bought this oven about 2 or 3 years ago and it quickly became the best kitchen purchase I have made. The airfry option is amazing and overall everyone loved the product. It is a pain to clean and keep clean but I was willing to over look it. Then shortly after the warranty ended we starting having issues with the door sensor. It would not register the door as shut and so would turn off after a few mins. for safety reasons. If you pushed the door harder or closed it again it usually started to work. After time it would eventually never register the door and essentially rendering the product useless. I have looked around and unfortunately there is no other airfry oven that seems to work as well and offer the amount of space as this one but I do not look forward to spending so much for a year or two of usage. I strongly suggest changing the door sensor. To potential buyers I recommend considering the value of the product for your specific situation as it might not be worth the cost.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It’s a wonderful machine, but it is really hard to clean burnt grease splatter especially after using the air fry mode. I recognize ALL toaster ovens have this problem so I clean it as well as I can after every bake or fry session.
I am still learning the best way to cook with my new Breville, but thus far I am enjoying the improved taste of my vegetables and tofu cooked this way as opposed to microwaving, oven roasting and pan frying. I did not give it 5 stars simply because it is harder to keep clean, due to spatters, but I keep experimenting. I am trying different cooking utensils and parchment paper. The web is full of sources and ideas and That has been helpful. If you are looking for simply the air fryer function, this may not be for you.
Love the versatility. I got this to replace an old toaster oven and air fryer to save counter space. Works well but not quite as fast as my former air fryer. Definitely worth the trade offs in space and features. Very simple to use.
Love this machine, it is quick and easy and nice something even the kids can run without setting house on fire.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have tried 2 of these ovens and I am disappointed, Identical problems on both of them. Leaking grease/oil from both of them underneath on right side. Perhaps a design flaw? I dont know, I am not pleased with this item

Thank you for your review. I can confirm for you that depending on the moisture content of the food you're air frying, there will be steam emitted from the door. The vents in the door are for just that purpose. The steam will get on the display panel. You'll see this noted in the user's manual, including under the Trouble Shooting section.
Steam is coming out from the oven door • This is normal. The door is vented to release steam created from high moisture content foods such as frozen breads.
Water is dripping onto counter from under door • This is normal. The condensation created from high moisture content foods such as frozen breads will run down the inside of the door and can drip onto the counter.
Since condensation builds up, if you are air frying fatty foods, grease can definitely be emitted along with the condensation. That's why we do suggest in the manual that when cooking fatty foods (e.g. chicken wings) use roasting pan instead of air fry/dehydrate basket to prevent the oil dripping. Discard excess oil in between the batches.
Please reach out if other issues or questions arise. We'll be happy to help.
After about 3 weeks, all is good, we are very happy with this unit. I was looking for a counter top oven, to use in addition to our main oven. I find I use this instead of the main oven 90% of the time!
