So far I have used most of the settings. I have found the only setting does not work very well is the toast setting. The light side doesn't even make toast and the dark side makes the toast way too dark. I don't think that I should have stand there to monitor the process.

Thank you for your comment and feedback. Inherent in the design of a toaster oven appliance, in comparison to a traditional upright toaster, is that the toast is in effect laying on a wire rack, and free of obstruction on the top. The wire rack naturally deflects a significant amount of radiant heat, and therefore toasting less than the top of the bread, which is exposed to the heating elements without the rack in the way.
