Wondered about that at first but then realized it eliminates fingerprint issues. The sensor cook cooks potatoes to "perfection" according to my wife. Eliminates the guesswork.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was time to replace our very old microwave. We had space constraints so our choices were limited. Once again LG to the rescue. Fits perfect, has plenty of size inside to do most anything. Have used quick cook, sensor cook, sensor reheat and defrost and this thing does it all well. Very powerful. A quick 30 second zap will reheat most things. It recently defrosted a frozen roast in 18 minutes without the first signs of “cooking” it. This is a great microwave!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, this microwave is so EASY to use and get used to. There are less buttons, but the slider is a magnificent idea and easy to use and adjust time. For somebody who just needs a high-quality basic microwave this is perfect. The inside is slick and smooth and easy to wipe clean; the tray has extra support so I don't ever have to worry about something heavy tipping or splashing. Overall the heating/cooking noise is minimal. The "finish" tone/song takes some getting used to—i'm used to a microwave that just "beeps!" The only negative is that I hear a high pitched electronic noise coming from it (my friends have minimal hearing loss and can't hear it), so occasionally I need to unplug and give my ears a break if I'm hanging out in the kitchen.
