Odd layout

I've had this microwave since Nov 2017 and it is still going OK even though the turntable is a bit clunky. My biggest beef with this machine is how the controls work. There is no keypad to enter an exact time. The front panel has a plus and minus button to set time in 10 second increments (if you want 55 seconds you are out of luck) as well as a slider for longer times which can make setting long times tricky. To change the power settings and everything else you must open the door to access those controls. This feature is very unusual and a pain. Also, the controls are very hard to read especially the front panel controls that are built into the door. The machine looks good in black but the dark controls on the black surface just don't stand out well. The engineers were obviously testing their design in a high light environment and didn't test using the lower light found in the average kitchen at night. The last whine is the funky song it plays when the cycle is done; it gets annoying after a while.
Bought this to replace an underpowered built-in. I wasn't sold on the controls behind the door, but willing to give it a shot. Turns out the location isn't the problem: the lack of contrast on the controls makes them unreadable. That, and the fact that the sensor reheat function is more complicated than it should be, caused me to return the unit within 24 hours.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Completion beep and touch buttons

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall this microwave does the job, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The completion beep sounds, as another reviewer put it, like an ice cream truck. There doesn’t seem to be a way to disable it.
In addition, the touch ‘buttons’ are not very responsive. On average I find I have to tap/press at least two times. I’d just as soon have an old-school microwave with buttons that work.

Unnecessarily cumbersome

Why removing the simple way to add time by pressing numbers? Also why removing the keypad from the front? I wonder if next model will have the power cord at the front door juts to remove the convenience to plug the microwave to the wall. If I want to warm a cup of water I have to add the minimum of 10 seconds to then run and stop the microwave before gets really hot because there is no way to control time but to add increments. And to stop the microwave the cancel button is unnecessary small and hard to see.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don't really like this one very much.The inside keyboard is a bad idea and the sliding touch controls are hard to work with any accuracy. Heat at low levels is weak for a 1250w machine.I guess it does the job but rarely on the first try.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Less than one month this product stopped working. Though I had one in the past that lasted for a year, I chose to purchase a second one. However the customer service on trying to get a refund or even a replacement has been a horrible experience and still to date I have not been able to get a replacement or refund.
