I bought the entire LG kitchen including this microwave. It was 1 year and 1 week to the day and the microwave died. No warranty past a year.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cooks food ok, but has downsides.

I purchased this unit may 1, 2018. The product looks great and performs well.
For the most part the food is cooked evenly and it is very easy to clean this unit.
I do not like how you are unable to disable the tone when it completes.
The real bummer is that one of the lines in the time indicator screen has burnt out. I feel this should not happen with a microwave that is only 2 years old. It is not worth the repair imo. Just for those 2 features, I personally would consider other brands in the future.

Hi Richardo, the reason why the warranty did not apply is because your countertop microwave is outside of the 1 year manufacturers labor and part warranty. If you did not purchase an extended warranty at time of purchase, you would be responsible for labor and parts. ^Jennifer

Horrible Magnetron/Annoying interface

As others said, magnetron blew and too expensive labor to bother fixing. I also hated having to open the door to select controls and only + - for time - no way to actually enter using numbers. I hated that so almost happy to trash this one. I won't purchase another LG

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this microwave oven for a week now, and have tried out most of the features. Like all the ovens out there, it's basic function is to heat food, and it does that well. What separates them then, besides power and size, is how easy they are to live with.
This model has a clean look that they achieved by removing the cluttered controls. Three controls remain: The Start button will start the oven with 30 seconds. Each additional push of the Start button adds 10 seconds to the cook time. If you need more, then the time slider control gives you that. By swiping your finger right or left you can set the time from 10 seconds to 90 minutes. Holding your finger on the + or - symbols will speed that process along by jumping larger time increments. The third button is the Stop button, which will also clear the time you entered so far, and doubles as a lockout function to keep little fingers from operating the oven. Hold for three seconds and everything is disabled, do it again to re-enable. I also like how there is no button or latch to open the door. On previous ovens the button to pop open the door would stick after a while.
The oven has more controls that you can only get at with the door open. These can be really useful once you get the hang of them. I tried the Sensor Reheat to warm my cold coffee, and it alerted me when it had 30 seconds remaining. I let it go until it finished, to see what it considered as "done", and my coffee was nice and hot. Too hot for me actually, so later I tried with a second cup only going to the warning point. It was still hotter than I prefer so I'll have to go old school for coffee and use the timer.
I also tried a couple of strips of turkey bacon on Sensor Cook. The way I do it probably isn't a good test for the sensors, because I put a paper towel on top of the bacon so as not to spatter all over the inside of the oven. I ended up stopping before the 30 second warning when it seemed like the popping was slowing down. At this point the bacon was close to perfect, so I'm pretty sure the sensor wasn't getting the moisture readings it needed.
Is this a good oven? I'd say yes. As soon as you do anything once, you've learned it and adapted. Removing the cluttered controls was a good idea for asthetics. The one thing I would change is to be able to get 5 second setting increments instead of 10. Warming a pastry is usually not enough at 10 seconds and too much at 20. The only other thing that bothered me a little was that the "improved" lighting, that's supposed to let you see better how your food is doing but it seemed no different from our old microwave.

Perfect size for the countertop

It is the perfect size for the countertop and I like the melody rather than a beeper. I would like it to only play once and not continue. Disappointed in the lack of number buttons - cumbersome to have to push the plus sign all the time. Also should have buttons for the sensor categories and all should be accessible from the outside without opening the door.
