Can conflict with your existing Wifi

I bought this product a month ago, and I love it, with one MAJOR caveat. The wireless receivers for the cameras (1 per every 2 cameras) can conflict with your existing Wifi. For example, my 100Mbps home Wifi drops to an useable 0.40Mbps whenever the wireless receivers are turned on. This happens no matter where I replace the receivers in my house, even downstairs inside of a concrete surrounded room. The only solution, per the vendor, is to move your existing Wifi from the 2.4Gz range to something else. This is rarely possible on home Wifi systems (although if you can force all equipment and clients to the new N wifi bands it's possibly workable). For example, my existing Comcast Wifi will not let me disable the 2.4GHz band. This is a better solution, if the Defender cameras let you manually pick Wifi channels (there are 15 of them), you could move your different Wifi receivers and routers to different channels and avoid the conflict. But you can't. In the current state, my $1200 purchase is worthless because I can't turn the camera receivers on. Very disappointing. And this is such a great product otherwise. Another solution would be if the cameras could just hook to your existing Wifi router and not need secondary receivers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Wireless Security Camera System !

I bought this system at the beginning of November and just now have begun the install. Given the custom nature of our property and buildings, this system is going to work really well, although placement of the main component took some time to fine tune given the many obstructions we have (multiple walls, metal roofing, concrete walls, etc). However, given the wireless nature of the system this is what the main attraction was for me. One of the wireless receivers had a small glitch, but Defender stepped up and is replacing it free of charge. I can't wait to get my last 2 cameras up and running. Thanks !

Great Features

Very easy to hook up and has great features. The wireless cams are perfect for an easy installation at my house and remote garage about 100' away fro the house.

Great value, clear pictures

I bought this system a few weeks a go and just finished installing the 6th camera today. The pictures are clear and the system is pretty intuitive.

Well made, simple setup, great picture quality

Package arrived in fine shape, with individual components carefully wrapped. Was favorably impressed with products construction. Basic set-up was simple and individual units appeared to simply WANT to go online despite being located one floor above receiver unit. Picture quality in low or regular light was excellent and selector features on box were nicely thought out. Simple plug-in power packs and wireless design tremendously simplified installation. Comparatively small size and rotation range of camera heads offered flexibility in installation. Manual was easy to read.
About the only operational issues we encountered in set-up was some apparent interference with our internal Wi-Fi when receiver and wireless router were located too close together (easily corrected) The tightener for the camera heads also required an added spacer to ensure tightness on installation.
One of six camera units in the package arrived DOA, but I anticipate that Defender will stand as firmly behind this unit's warranty as solidly as it was built.
I would recommend this to a friend!
