Great Features, Easy Set Up, Can't Beat The Value!

The system arrived quicker than I anticipated. After a quick check to confirm everything had been included, I set to work. We first set everything up on a table to confirm that all the cameras would pair correctly and to get the basics done ahead of time. Once that was done it was off to mount the cameras. Using these wireless cameras mad installation a breeze. We only had to worry about getting to the nearest power source and didn't have to fish cable from each camera all the way back to the DVR. This also allows us the flexibility to relocate the DVR with ease as there is some debate where its final home should be in the house.
Once everything was talking and we had it on the local network, we opted to use the One Touch software to let it configure our router for remote viewing. I was pleasantly surprised to see it work on the first attempt, and not having to manually mess with port forwarding was a bonus.
At the moment we are using it in the "always on" mode. We don't feel that wee need to worry about many weeks worth of footage. It is more to make sure it was the raccoons that dumped the bird bath overnight rather than keep a record of all comings and goings on the property. I do appreciate the ability to easily set up a recoding schedule, but at the moment we won't be using it. The motion activation feature is also very nice, and we may decide to use it if we conclude that we need to save more footage for review. The set up for that also looks simple enough.
We have so far been very pleased with the results we are getting. The only fuss with the cameras was where exactly to point them for the best coverage of an area. The picture quality is very good and more than adequate for out needs. It is very comforting to be at work or out of town and to be able to pull up a live view of home on my smartphone or tablet. The peace of mind it brings was worth the price paid for the system. Some may complain that these cameras are not HD quality, but growing up with regular TV, the resolution is more than good enough and exceeds my expectations.
I have recommended this system, and Defender-USA to several friends, and one has already purchased a wired 4 channel system. I helped in the set up for him, which also went easily. He too is very satisfied with the results.
If you shop around, you will be hard pressed to find the features and equipment at such affordable prices. Customer support is friendly and knowledgeable, if you need to contact them. I just had a few simple questions and they took care of me right away. Do yourself a favor and read through the manual they provide on CD, even better to print it out. Defender's online video tutorials are also helpful to watch.
Overall I am very pleased and extremely satisfied with the system I have. It works as expected, was a great price, and adds a layer of security that was always lacking.

Very Dissappointed

After searching the Internet for wireless security cameras and camera systems I was truly hoping that Defender was the best option. I have been VERY disappointed.
While the camera(s) connection to the hub was seamless, the I found the quality of the video very average and in my opinion not up to par with other HD cameras on the market.
The software with the system I found to be outdated and time consuming to manage.
I tried r e p e a t e d l y to connect the system to the internet (and I'm pretty good at computer issues). I followed the manual as well as the online video to no avail.
In short, after a few weeks of owning the system I have pulled all of the cameras down and am in the process of migrating to another brand.
For those that like this product, I'm happy for you. From my perspective, I've wasted over $1,000.00. I've given the system away to a friend who owns a local company in the event he can make use of it.
Regards.
Roger

I can't stress enough how simple this system is to set up.  It was as easy as plugging it in!  The video quality is really good in the light, and the night vision is pretty good.  I don't need it to see really far, so I can't comment on the quality at a great distance.  I did a lot of research, and for the price you can't go wrong with this system.  The fact that it is wireless was probably the biggest selling point for us.  It wasn't realistic for us to have wires everywhere, or drill holes in the walls for wires to go through.  All you need is power to the camera and power to the DVR/receivers.  I have not experienced any interference whatsoever even with a wifi router, microwave and five walls in between the camera and DVR/receivers.  Look no further, you found the system for you!

Great cameras but poor reception

I purchased the cameras about a month ago. Installation was very easy, but the wireless range is very disappointing. I live in a one story house and the furthest cameras are only 65 ft. away from the receiver (three of the six cameras are this distance away). They are constantly losing signal and freezing. The cameras that are 10-40 ft away work as advertised. The night vision is excellent. If it weren't for the poor range I would have rated this with 5 stars.

I love the my wireless system,, NO wires to run. The cameras are very clear. . The wireless base units attach to the DVR which connects to my router/modem for online access. The installation instructions are not very clear, but with my electronic background I had no problem installing it..The longest distance I can get from the transmitter is about 75 feet, after that I start to lose signal, but for me this system is GREAT. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I bought this because I needed something that I could set up with a lot of flexibility and little effort. I got it all installed and had to move one of the cameras so turned it off. The wireless unit is tied to its specific cameras. When I turned it all back on, one of the wireless units would not power on. Filling in the form on their web page, I received an immediate RMA and no questions asked about fixing it. The only issue I have is that the bases are made of cheap metal and its really easy to strip out the small adjusting screws. I just replaced with a nut and bolt and it worked ok. The picture is great and setup is so easy even my wife could do it. It has a good picture but as some have mentioned, its range is limited through metal buildings and several walls. If you can live within that, its a great value.

Good price for product

I bought this system to address issues at my business at night without spending the high amounts demanded by the 24/7 monitoring services. It is easy to install, and looks good. My only concern is the fact that the routers must be connected to the DVR, which causes problems when trying to cover a large area. To correct this problem we are having to run cable from the DVR to a router in the middle of the building, which should then give us the coverage we need.

Easy install, fair range

I have installed 6 cameras. Four of the six are less than 30 feet from the receivers and provide a great picture. The other two are between 55 and 65 feet from the receivers and provide intermittent pictures. The advertised maximum range of 750 feet and 200 feet optimal is a gross exaggeration. I will admit that the signal must pass through a brick wall but most homes in our part of the country have exterior brick. Eventually I will replace two cameras with wired cameras which will complicate the installation but should provide better coverage. It should also be noted that the wireless cameras cannot be mounted to a ceiling unless you are willing to accept an upside down picture. This is a distinct weakness since all of my cameras would be better suited if mounted under eaves or ceilings.
