Fantastic security system

I I just want to say how extremely happy we are with this product. I searched and searched for a product with long range night vision, a large storage unit, lots of cameras, and mostly durable for the cold weather. The price was totally right. My husband contacted defender technical support for assistance and they were extremely helpful and gave excellent support. Also Daniela gave clear written instructions. We hope to in the near future add additional cameras to our current model. Also, we are extremely excited to hear about advancement in product design with solar. Sincerely, Elizabeth

Meeting or Exceeding all expectations

Just bought and set up this system today.
Presales support (Whitney) was superb, and answered the questions I had quickly and completely, assuring that I got the system that met my specifications.
The basic (i.e., local viewing) setup is pretty straightforward and I was able to get the cameras online in about an hour without any assistance.
Setting up PC networking access was quite a bit more challenging. Many thanks to tech support (Michel?) for working through it with me and getting me online.
After that was done, using the ClearVu app with my iPad and iPhone was easy.
I did note that I could not access from both the iPad AND iPhone concurrently.

Exceeded my expectations

The Sentinel Pro is an excellent system and very well made. All of the parts arrived that were supposed to come with the package. The picture clarity is excellent and I am still learning the many features of the DVR and retrieving information.
I did a lot of homework and I think I made the right choice. This is the best system for the money.
My only complaint would be that I believe there is a better way to get somebody set up. Installing the cameras was very easy not everything else was more difficult than I believe it needed to be. Also, there was no cord to connect the DVR to a TV monitor. The instructions said you needed a VGA type cord but my monitor did not have one. The instructions did not tell you that an HDMI cord would work just as well. I had to go out and buy one. No big deal but the instruction manuals should always be written by people who have actually installed the system. I was on the phone with them quite a bit and did a lot of live chat. All told, I probably spent several hours communicating with them. The staff is great! A better way, in my opinion, would be that once you buy the system, they set up a dedicated one hour time with a technician who is actually installed the system and get you set up. Everybody would save time.
The ipad installation of ClearVu took time but is excellent. One quirk is that you can only get the menu on the ipad by tilting the screen to vertical

Not so happy!

I bought this unit thinking that with the extened range I could view areas within 200 feet.....Some of my cameras do not work and black out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Extremely satisfied with this recently purchased product. Easy set up & use of monitor. all 4 camera's located outdoors & receiving a great Signa total time 4 hrs since they were installed outside. Complete sense of relief knowing my property & belongings are protected day & night.

Pre-sale questions were professionally answered (Daniella). Items were very well packaged and arrived in prime condition. I found initial setup to be slow and the quick start pictorial confusing. e.g. It only shows how to hook up one wireless camera to the router. A simple statement that each router has ports for two cameras would have helped. Printing out of the manual from the enclosed disc did not help. Camera channels on the back of the DVR are not numbered and not in the order I would expect. After that early confusion, set up was relatively easy. Picture quality is very good. Cameras are weather resistant, not weather proof so will need additional protection if placed outside in our sometimes harsh climate.

Great System

I set the whole system up in my kitchen, matched the cameras with the receivers, continued to set all of the setting for the whole system. After I got where I wanted It I went ahead and Installed the cameras, and finished setting the whole system up, this way I knew that everything would work with out running all around and making the final adjustments. The system does a great job just what I wanted it to do. I know now that if we have an intruder at any time, I will have a great picture of them and their vehicle for the law officers to help identify who they are. I have one complaint, I wish the instructions were in book form rather than on a disc, it is difficult to go through the settings when a person doesn't have a laptop! Thanks Defender.

great for weather and wildlife too

purchased primarily for watching snow and wildlife. good price on sale @ Homedepot. easy install but problems with port forwarding through apple airport router and cable modem. technical service on phone was excellent once navigated through automated greeting system. trouble later with one camera pairing with a receiver. received prompt service for replacement.
