I am so happy I purchase my 6 camera Defender system, the cameras are very clear. I has taken some time to get everything total working, but I called the trouble
shooting department and was lucky enough to get an agent name Michel he was absolutely fantastic, so patient and did stop until he get me set-up. He is truly an asset to your business! Thank you again Michel.

Great products

I brought this product about 3 months ago and it has given me very few problems. My Cameras are great. My view is clear, and I'm able to keep a better watch of things while I'm in or out on a drive. The one problem I did encounter. I called in and was giving the up most attention and patients. I talked to Michel, he stayed on the phone with me until the problem was fixed. He went step for step with me and made sure I didn't miss a thing and made sure I understood each step and what we were doing.

Came fast. Range not as far as advertised but system works great.Not very computer literate so had to contact customer support.They messaged me right thru my igorance and system is up and running.Would be nice to speak to a real person but live chat got me thru it.Has a lot of features I haven,t figured out yet but thats my fault.

Just what we needed!

Last spring Spray Beach Yacht Club bought one unit to monitor our club facilities. The system works like a charm. Works so good we bought a second system to monitor the north side of our property where we have dry storage boat racks and two buildings, a junior club house and sailing center. The system was easily installed by some of our members and we have had no equipment failures since it was installed. It was also to be used by our Property and Grounds Chairmen to monitor the property during severe storms such as noreasters, so we could estimate if we had any damage. If damage occurred then we could get people to the site to fix the damage. Unfortunately our Board of Governors neglected to tell our members that we had installed a security system. The members were very disappointed that they were being taped. They raised such a stink that at our June membership meeting they voted to turn the two units off. We are currently coming up with a plan that will satisfy our members that don't wanted to be taped, and the places where we can tape to protect our property. This involves a two season schedule and an am / pm schedule for our 12 cameras.
We will vote on this schedule in late June 2016 at our next meeting. As of today the two systems remain off.
As per my conversation with Sarah, CWD Sales, who has given us excellent service,she felt that since we had not used the equipment except for about three weeks, that we could possibly get out warranty extended for an extra year.

Solid System! Great Bang for the Buck

I purchased the Defender Security Cameras approximately two weeks ago. The installation of the cameras and DVR system was not difficult. The wireless cameras seamlessly integrate and talk to the DVR quickly and efficiently. The furthest camera installed is aprox. 125 feet away and the signal is excellent. I have had no drop in signal even during several extreme rainfalls.
The viewing of the camera on my computer was the most difficult process of installing the system and at times frustrating. I have windows ten so the one step port forwarding did not work as intended. I had to manually forward the ports. At first I was unable to get the net viewer to work that was recommended with windows ten however I was able to use Internet Explorer that is with Windows Ten by going into the properties and enabling the active x controls.
I used the QR code on the DVR to set up Clearvu and once the DVR was connected by Ethernet to the internet I could remotely view the cameras on my phone and iPad. On the iPad make sure you have it in vertical orientation in order to see the menu drop down list. (Thank you Daniela from customer support for that tech advise!)
The biggest complaint I have is with the written network instructions for both the Clearvu and setting up the computer. They need to be a more concise step by step example of how to network the device and they need to be simpler. The network setup is not as complicated as the instructions make it out to be. The port forwarding website does give all the information needed for each wireless router. Even with this criticism the instructions were helpful.
I had read some bad reviews about customer support. My experience with customer support was excellent! Top Notch!! Prior to buying the product I called and talked to a salesman who was very knowledgeable about the and very helpful in answering all of my questions.
I sent an email complaining about the network setup during one of my frustrating moments. I received a call within 24 hours from Daniela from Customer support. Although I had been able to figure out the networking using internet explorer Daniela explained net viewer was a more robust way of handling the cameras from the computer and she is right. She instructed me to use the QR code in net viewer rather than the IP address. Worked instantly first try!! She explained the networking to me in very simple terms and I understood it immediately! Her instructions were much better than the written ones. Thank you Daniela! Customer Support gets an A+++ from me!!
On the cameras it would be nice if the Defender would change the small adjustment screws with larger ones that can be hand tightened while positioning the camera and then locked with the Allen wrench. Up 20 feet on a ladder and trying to position the cameras then lock it down with those tiny adjustment screws and Allen wrench was daunting.
I have worked with professional security companies while working in the corrections field and know the amount of monies spent on security cameras. I would not go as far to say these are as good as those cameras but for the price and for home use they measure up quite well. Affordable, reliable, useful, clear picture, good night vision, remote viewing, motion sensing very nice system!!

Works Great

Installation and initial setup were fairly simple. I am handy enough to bore a few holes and fish power supply wiring into the attic for the outside cams, and inside cams were a breeze. I did it all myself. I did chat with, tweak, and resolve a couple of camera reception issues and questions over iPhones, 2 Mac laptops, and a Windows desktop differences and setup details. Thanks guys. (Turned out one Mac is so old, it will not support software but all others Works Great). Camera placement is important. Although the farthest cam was approx. 60-70 feet (as the crow flies) from the receiver, I had to purchase and add a 20' M-F SMA antenna extender cable (www.MPDDigital.US) to overcome reception issues through several thick concrete. Now it's perfect. A 2nd cam atop a book shelf in a dark corner seemed to "tick" back and forth between day/night vision. Relocating that cam 2' cured that problem. Extensive detailed information comes with the system on a CD. However, without those readily available support chats, I would not have been where I am now. The more I use the system, the more I like it. Checking what's going on at home while you're out of town is a breeze on iPhone or laptop.

Easy to install

Bought this from Walmart about a month ago. works good, though i'm still a little confused about the resolution settings. I wish they had a tech support number to cal rather than having to send emails. The online manual does not exactly fit the model, and doesn't explain some of the settings well enough to no which ones to use.
