GREAT CAMERA SYSTEM

We bought this system after 2 breakins in a year. We have an alarm system that scared them off, so they got nothing. The Police responded and said it would have been nice to have had a camera set up. This is a system that was fairly easy for me to install, even at 80 years old.The computer setup was complicated for. However I made 2 differant calls to customer support for help. Within 5 minutes on both calls I was talking to a live person. One call I talked with a lady named Daniela and the second was with a lady named Stacey. Both of these ladies was extremely polite, helpful and easy to understand. Both of them talked me through the setup and now everything is working great. They both was excellent. We have 5 cameras mounted outside and 1 camera inside. Thanks again to Daniela and Stacey.

Good quality product, unable to keep

I bought this item 2 weeks ago and it arrived 6 days later. The unboxing was straight forward, and the 4 cameras were already synced to their perspective base stations.
I opted not to mount the cameras until I had everything working as far as the DVR and cameras. Things seemed to be going great until my wife complained that our TiVO mini that was upstairs using one of those wireless-to-cat5 adapters was stalling out and dropping audio. Since I had read reviews about potential WiFi interference, I started troubleshooting and sure enough, whenever I turned on the Camera base stations, wireless devices in the house had issues.
I tried moving the DVR and base stations around the house, up and downstairs but no joy. Unfortunately I couldn't work around this issue so I returned the system. Was really jazzed about the wireless cameras, since running the coax under the house in the crawl space was painful and I wanted to avoid doing it but ended up with a cabled camera system.
If I could have heard back quicker from support, I would have traded my wireless for one of the wired systems but it took 3 days before I got traction on the RMA and I really wanted to talk with someone to just do a comparable system exchange. Not that inspired by the current support/sales process.
If circumstances were different, I would have bought another system from Defender. But fix you customer support.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Outstanding system

I bought this Defender wireless camera system to replace an older system. We use it to keep track of the property around our house. Set-up was easy and the picture quality is excellent. Nightvision is surprisingly good. The port-out for access on smart phones and other outside devices is excellent as well. Setting up the network and port was a little challenging, but Michel in Defender tech support was very friendly and helpful, and patiently guided me through the set-up which now works great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this unit because after looking for more then 1 year I figured I could install it myself. I was right. This replaced my older Wilife system that I had and I did not want to pay for a monthly monitor service. I did a few issues with my router ( it ancient) but once I upgraded to this century everything was great. I love this unit. We have 2 cameras inside, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs and 2 outside. 1 place to show driveway and 1 to show the back deck. The 2 outside are transmitting through brick walls and no issues with the wireless signal at all. It does everything it says it will do. I can view on my android Samsung S4 phone, my Windows 7 laptop. I did print off the instructions to make it easier for myself and remember to write everything down, IP addresses etc. I would highly recommend this system to anyone.

true 750 range

i installed at a helio pad and the 750' range is great. not to mention cameras not affected by rotary blades of helo
