Can't find the heads
on September 22, 2012

I bought the toothbrushes - really 3 of them - and now I can't find the heads in stores. Only can find the ones with the round bottoms - not the straight airheads. And yes, it is great to change them and really nice but they don't seem to last very long. Expensive, but my tooth cleanings have been very easy because I hardly have any stuff on my teeth from these great toothbrushes.

I love my Sonicare but it can no longer keep a charge

I love Philips Sonicare, but in less than a year, fails to keep a charge. My dental hygienist says I will have to buy a new one.
Pros: love the ease and the automatic timing, love how clean my teeth feel
Cons: can't keep a charge after a year

Great brush, heads wear out quickly

Love the FlexCare brush, but the heads appear to wear out in 4-6 weeks. They do a great job for the 4-6 weeks but then absolutely need to be replaced. Brushing your teeth with the Sonicare system has become more expensive than originally predicted, but I like the results.

Great technology - no useful choice of brush heads
on September 8, 2011

This is my first sonic toothbrush, and though I was quite skeptic before buying, the results are positive.
My gum problems are gone, and the time I spend with oral care shrunk to less than 2x5 minutes per day. I even started using the brush in between, just to freshen up (the "Refresh" mode).
I switched from Oral-B and the only thing I miss is the wide variety of head types that I got accustomed with. There should definitely be a head that features some polishing action for whitening (the one it comes with is fine for daily cleaning, but does not seem to support occasional whitening/polishing).
I have to agree with the other reviewers on the indicator bristles. These loose their color much too fast to be usable as a material fatigue indicator (I hope Philips reads these and solves this particular issue)
One last remark: the brush heads are mounted on a thin steel axle, which may be the weakest point of this design. My dentist actually broke hers (the internal mounting point dislocated and the axle started wobbling), but after replacing it this never happened again (of course he was more careful with changing brushes)
Otherwise this is a great overall package:
- nice high-end design, that fits minimalist bathrooms especially well
- excellent cleaning action and gum care
- good materials and robust device (proof that "made in China" is not a swearword)

Replacement guidelines are not accurate

We have used Sonicare tooth brushes for years and have found the brush heads really cannot be used beyond perhaps 6 weeks. Now that there is the fading blue bristle reminder, I know it is not my problem but a problem with the brush heads. The blue color is faded in about 4 weeks and we continue to use for another two weeks but by then the bristles are just too soft to be effective.
Pros: i still like how the brush cleans my teeth and gum
Cons: plan to replace brushheads every month

The product is good, but it needs a better design for getting to the back teeth.

This is my third Sonicare. My First FlexCare

It is suggested that you change the heads every three months, but only available in packs of three. I think there should be four heads so you can buy them for a year at a time. My mother gets the heads for me as a Christmas stocking stuffer. Since there are only three, I change heads every four months. Why not sell a four-pack?
