Lousy performance, v. expensive toner

I truly regret this purchase. It's incredibly slow, the print quality is worse than any inkjet I've ever owned and the toner is very expensive.

i used HP printers before and found it difficult to install and use...so after my last HP printer died, i decided to try a canon...so i bought this higher end for my home office...at first, i was worried about installation and access from all over the house...the installation turned out to be very easy and i am able to use it from all over the house!!!

Good, but poor driver

I have been frustrated that I have to continually re-install the driver due to recurring errors when trying to scan. The print quality is good, the ink lasts, but the scanner cannot scan double sided documents which is also frustrating.

Absolutely Terrible

This printer is a constant headache in our office. It will continuously breaks without explanation. I've had to re-install the thing 100s of times just to print.

Worst Printer Ever

I would not have given it one star but there was nothing lower. I bought this printer about 6 weeks ago and have regretted it ever since. Color reproduction is bad, reliability is non-existent, paper feeder chews up documents.

Solid Printer. Over-Powered for Home Office

This printer is one of the best I`ve ever owned, though maybe somewhat more powerful than the typical home office or very small business user would need. I received a sample of the printer in exchange for my review, and have been using it in my small office for the past week.
For a printer so large, and with so much potential to be complicated, I found setup delightfully easy. Instructions were adeptly conveyed for everything from taking the printer out of its packaging to configuring its internet connection and connecting to computers. I was able to set it up in 30 minutes, minus the time it took me to find somewhere for the machine to live. It`s worth noting that it`s pretty big and very heavy - it needs something like 4 square feet of (very sturdy) table space and needs two people to move it. I still haven`t found the perfect place for it.
The prints have been speedy and of excellent quality. Scanning - the feature I use most often - has also been easy and high quality. There appear to be a lot more features that I haven`t yet got to, but I trust that they will be satisfactory, given that the basic printing, scanning, and copying are very solid. Features are easy to access and use thanks to the intuitive touch screen display. The screen itself could be more precisely responsive to touch, but it`s no worse than the touch screen on any other office machine I`ve used.
Overall, I am very happy with the Canon MF731Cdw and am excited to rely on it for many years to come.
