Don't buy this fridge.

I bought my first fridge (this model) 2 years ago, and I am on my third replacement. The issue is the alarm that goes off at random hours (usually middle of the night), for no reason anyone can find. I've had several repairmen in, and had everything that can be replaced, replaced. I've had my electrical panel checked (was fine), and had the outlet replaced. I am now waiting for a repairman to come in and check it again. Other than this annoying, unacceptable issue, I actually like the fridge!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Do not buy!! No service while under warranty.

This refridgerator came with my condo. As other reviewers have indicated (search the model number reviews on Whirlpool), the alarm beeps at you at all hours of the day and night, preventing you from even getting more than a few hours of sleep. Whirlpool and Coast Appliances has taken almost half a year to address this issue and it has gone nowhere. I am aware of many negative reviews for this fridge and understand a large percentage of this model has had issues and required servicing. Many refridgerator parts from this model (such as the doors), have been left in the garbage disposal room in our condominium. I am currently writing this after having been woken up twice to the alarm at 2am and again at 6am just this morning. I believe they are hoping that I'll just replace the fridge myself after pushing me to the limits. I will be reviewing my rights and legal options as a consumer this week as this has affected my daily life and living. Coast Appliances keeps saying they are following up with Whirlpool however it was gotten me nowhere.

Do not buy this product!

This alarm goes off at random times and super frustarating. The doors close fine, the fridge (or freezer) isnt over loaded. The alarm goes off like every two hours and all night also. The fridge is out of warranty and buy the sounds of other people buying new parts to try and fix it, I will just replace this piece of junk and NEVER buy from whirlpool again!

It started to beep half the night

We bought this fridge because of the size and look, actually re-did the kitchen for this fridge. I have no idea what is going on but like others had said, the beeping that started to go off half the night is unrealistic. I have tried everything from pulling it out and vacuuming the back, trying to push various buttons, (which helps sometimes) to unplugging it for 8 hours to make sure it wasn't frosted up. Actually the last point made is worst, it took me over an hour of pushing buttons for it to stop. I understand if the door was opened it would beep, which is a good feature, but man had a way to disconnect at 2 to 4 in the morning. Very disappointed for such a brand that has been around for so many years.

This fridge came with my condo when I purchased from pre construction and its been a nightmare. It beeps different times a day, specially in the middle of the night, so I have to get out to bed to shut it off every single time. The beeping happens almost every other day!!! This model should be recalled!!!!!!

A Recall is needed Whirlpool - Simple fox

I discovered the cause of the beeps. This is a Manufacturer defect with such a simple easily fixable thing. After A few years of irritating random beeps at all hours of the day. Looking at the reviews, this is a common issue with everyone that purchased this.. The fix is sooooo simple after discovering the cause. One of whirlpools suppliers screwed up. If you close the refrigerator door, you notice that all of the seals seal properly and the door vacuums inwards..... But the freezer door does not. Why? After carefully checking all four corners of the seal. I noticed that one side of the seal was manufactured without a MAGNET. However checking the refrigerator door there is a magnet surrounding the entire perimeter of the seal. The freezer door seal does not. As a temporary fix, I've pulled the seal off and rotated it around so that the side of the seal without the magnet resides now on the hinge side which has a tighter fit. This allows the door opening side to seal better because the magnet can do what it's suppose to. Whirlpool fix this and submit a recall to your customers. There is no way your engineers are not aware of this mess up. Everyone that has this problem squeeze all four corners of your seal to check and see of you will feel the magnet in only three sides of the freezer door seal. One side will be void of a magnet

Poor quality, no service

This fridge came with my condo and while it has been working for the past year, the alarm goes off at all hours but there is no information about what's wrong and the manual doesn't explain. Now, the freezer is just a couple of degrees below freezing instead of -18 even though I now have it on the lowest setting, so I need service. It is impossible to get through to Whirlpool by any means (don't bother with the chat - it's a bad robot!) so I will have to call a local serviceman even though there may be a solution I can manage. I have already replaced the noisy Whirlpool dishwasher that came with my condo and now it looks like I'll have to replace the fridge too.
