The worst fridge

Similar to other reviewers, I moved into a new condo in 2020 with this refrigerator. The alarm used to intermittently beep and now it reliably beeps every night between 1am-4am. The fridge is cold and the door is always closed. For months now I haven’t been able to sleep at night because I have to get up to silence the alarm. Do not buy this fridge.

This fridge came with my condo and has caused issues for years. In 2020, the fridge was a year old and I began having issues with the alarm sounding randomly throughout the day/night (3 a.m. even). Once the alarm went off the fridge would stop running/cooling. After many visits from technicians, Whirlpool replaced the fridge. A year later, I'm now experiencing the exact same issue all over again. Funny enough, just a month outside of the warranty. This product has caused much frustration and concern. I can't leave for the weekend without thinking about if my fridge has turned off.

Garbage. Alarm goes off at all times.

Bought a new condo and this was the fridge in it. The fridge must think the door is open and would NOT stop beeping. It beeps almost every night. I am shocked to see that everyone has the same complaint, yet Whirlpool has not done anything to resolve what is clearly a defect with this model.

Not happy with this fridge

I bought this fridge almost 4 years ago, for just over the last year an a half, I have been dealing with the random alarm that goes off at all hours - usually between 1-3am. The door is shut so it’s not that alarm, and the temp levels are fine. The door and electrical panel have already been replaced through the warranty company, but the beeping continues. There doesn’t seem to be any solution to this issue and it’s driving me nuts. I would NOT recommend this fridge to anyone. I am very unhappy with the the appliance and equally so with the service in an effort to repair the problem.

Random Beeping from Door Sensor

This fridge was provided as one of the appliances of a new construction luxury apartment rental, I am the first tenant to operate this fridge. From day one it the door sensor would beep randomly, often several times a week, and often at like 3am. I recorded over 50 instances of this in the first 180 days of renting this unit. Landlords, avoid this fridge, it has caused many service calls with no resolution.

URB551WNGZ - beeps periodically for no reason

The fridge was standard in new condo build I moved into. Talking to many other owners they have had issues and just like many of the reviews...it beeps beeps beeps. We've reduced the amount of contents in the fridge. moved things away from the vents. double checked none of the vents in the fridge or the freezer are blocked. still...beep beep.
Hoping there is a way to turn off the beeps.

Constant beeping - POOR sensors. Avoid this fridge

I purchased this refrigerator and I've had nothing but problems from day one. Constant beeping in the middle of the night - waking us up to deal with it. I have called Whirlpool who sent a technician (that we paid for) who advised "This is a common problem with this fridge." The technician's recommendation is to physically disable the sound panel. The only solution other than turning off the fridge is to: 1. Turn on the "Party mode" and "Fast freeze" buttons, This is the mode keeping drinks cold in the freezer compartment. After 30 mins, it seems to reset it self. 2. Turn off "Party mode" once the fridge rapidly beeps again letting you know the function has completed. It's absolutely frustrating that we have had no resolution to this, especially after paying for a technician. I strongly discourage purchasing this fridge.
