The ice makers don’t work- and we have 2!!

We purchased this brand new and when ice makers are on, they flood the freezer with water. We had to turn both of them off and wait for a repair person. There is one repair person, I guess, and he’s out with Covid. Such a let down for a brand new appliance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Problems after only 1 year!!!

Not even 2 yo and we’ve already had multiple service calls as it’s no longer cooling. Of course it had to happen on a holiday and 4 weeks later we still not fixed. Extremely frustrating to be without a refrigerator for 4 weeks.

Terrible fridge

This has to be the worse fridge we have ever owned! Since we bought this brand new in 2018 we have had to have it worked on 4 times. The ice maker froze up because of no insulation and ge did send us a new door for free so that was a us. We have had to replace the seal on the freezer door and everything in the freezer continues to get rime ice all over it. Now the icemaker is leaking water and I've come home to find it all over the spill tray and floor. So we have to call the repair man back out. We purchased this fridge because at the time it was the biggest on the market at 28.0 cubic foot but evidently bigger is not better. Its not under warranty anymore so we have to eat the cost if we replace it. Im very dissatisfied with ge. All our other appliances are whirlpool and we bought them at the same time and have had no issues whatsoever
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bad product

Refrigerator broke two weeks after delivery, GE stated that tech would be out to fix, waited a week and didn’t hear anything. GE couldn’t find a service provider to fix, so they just let it be and never notified me of anything. Now I wait for hours on hold trying to talk to consumer relations, nobody else there can help me. Do not recommend.

Poor Reliability After 3.5 Years

The climate zone tray started freezing and the remainder of the refrigerator is not cold as it should be. As of now, the freezer and ice maker still work. I have a repair person coming to check it own. If the repair price is reasonable, then I will get it fixed. If the repair price is not reasonable, then I will be in the market for a new refrigerator after 3.5 years of usage. However, regardless of whether I get this repaired, I have shaken confidence in the GE brand. Based upon the GE reputation and good reviews, I expected to get at least 10-15 years out of this refrigerator. I cannot in good conscience purchase another GE refrigerator if this needs a significant, expensive repair.

Terrible GE refrigerator’s. I’m on #4 in a year

I purchased the GE refrigerator as part of my appliance package when building my house. (I’ve been in my house one year). I’m currently waiting on fridge #4 to be delivered because something has been wrong with the first 3. It’s not the same problem either. My last one lasted 20 days and quit cooling completely. Fridge #2 lasted almost 3 months and the water dispenser quit working. On Fridge #1, the water dispenser constantly leaked. Every repairman that was sent to my house to work on these said to NEVER buy GE appliances. Here’s your warning!

wrap for shipment

Our only complaint about our new refrigerator is the plastic wrap that protects it during shipment. It is installed such that it is difficult to remove without using a knife, thus risking scratching the new finish. The wrap should be easily peeled off without using a knife.

Boo! Pools & freezes water in the freezer bottom

I loved this fridge in the beginning. And then I started hearing an ominous scraping noise every time I’d open the freezer. Turns out, the fridge pools water and I have to pry off a fully frozen sheet of ice (sometimes up to an inch and a half thick) from the bottom of the freezer so the drawer can move freely. This is a massive pain bc the whole freezer needs to be emptied and then the basket has to be removed. It’s awful. Don’t recommend.
