This is our second purchase from this line of GE refridgerators. We left our last when we sold our house and new that we liked it so that was directly where we went. It is an overall good unit, plenty of space, movable shelving. Keeps everything nice and cold as it should. The only thing is it appears the "butter door" area is gone now? not sure what the actual name is but liked the ability to keep certain things there.
I would recommend this to a friend!

8 years in and the ice maker hasn’t worked properly for 3 years. Now the bottom of the refrigerator is freezing and creating ice chunks, freezing the bottom drawer shut, but barely cooling items at the top. Really sucks. I guess they just make garbage these days so we have to keep replacing the garbage. But hey, at least some corporate execs get to have multiple homes while we fill up landfills with their trash appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to help out with your icemaker not producing ice and with the freezing you are noticing.
We recommend checking for ice cubes that may be blocking the ice mold. It's also important to check if the filter is needing to be replaced. You can also view additional troubleshooting here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17403
In regards to the freezing you are noticing, we recommend checking that the fresh food drawers and compartment are ideally 1/2 full or more. Freezing is more likely to occur when the refrigerator does not have enough food to absorb the cold air.

It has plenty of room- great drawer/shelf allocation. Has served us well for 12 years. I like the design inside and love that it is an energy saving machine. It keeps our food cool very well.

Reliable, spacious, and user-friendly. The GE fridge keeps food fresh with consistent cooling, offers smart organization with adjustable shelves, and runs quietly. The door-in ice/water feature is handy, though having a drip tray would be nice since it does drip after using. Overall, a great value for families looking for modern features without going overboard.

Overall I really like this refrigerator. The storage capacity is great, the shelf configuration is flexible, the French doors allow easy access, and I love that the freezer drawer has two levels. It’s also fairly energy efficient. The only downside is that during summer’s hottest days, over 100 F where I’m at, the ice maker cannot keep up with demand and I run out at the dispenser. It doesn’t have an additional ice maker in the freezer drawer, so when I’m out, I’m out. In every other respect it’s great.

An outstanding Refrigerator, love the color , and capacity! How can I get a Bypass filter because I have it hooked to a Reverse Osmosis!

Runs hot

Space in the refrigerator is nice but I can hardly ever get the thing lower that 40f.. I have it set to the coolest setting (35f) but it usually hovers between 40-45.. already got a new compressor installed 8 months after purchase and still acting up.. avoid this model

We'd like to help out with your refrigerator not cooling properly.
We recommend checking to see if you notice any gaps or holes around the door seal. This will allow cool air to escape and alter the overall temperature inside the compartment. You will also want to check for any large containers in the back, they may block the flow of cold air and adversely affect the temperatures in the refrigerator. Move tall items forward so they don't block the air flow.
