INTERESTING STEP UP FROM OUR LAST REFRIGERATOR.

With our recently completed remodel, first floor only, we put in a new kitchen and an entire suite of GE PROFILE appliances: refrigerator, stove, dishwasher.
Needless to say, this has all taken some getting used to.
However, we both feel the upgrades and improvements made on the refrigerator, especially, have made a difference in our appreciation of the kitchen, and the added interior space over our old unit, is very remarkable.
I can truthfully say we have no hesitation recommending the GE PROFILE refrigerator.
Well laid out (takes a little getting used to) and seems to be extremely well built.
I'd say, for people who are pretty picky about specific details of items we buy, GE seems to have done a great job meeting our needs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

COULD BE BETTER

The ice maker's capacity on the door is too small to handle multiple guests and needs a filter to operate which is expensive. There is no dairy bin, the refrigerator area is smaller than expected and the shelves are not very adjustable to use taller items. On a more positive note, the freezer is large.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While we’re glad you enjoy the large capacity of the freezer, we regret that you feel the ice maker’s capacity is too small, dislike the need for a filter, and have concerns over the dairy bin, refrigerator capacity and adjustability of the shelves.

We do have a dairy bin in the upper section of the right door to provide a separate compartment for your items. We also have a section in the manual describing how you can rearrange the shelves to best fit your needs, on page 18.

We plugged it in and it has not cooled, it was missing the filter and now it look like I still need a new frig.

We know how inconvenient issues like those would be, especially when the refrigerator is brand new. This certainly isn’t the positive ownership experience we want for you.
After reviewing our system, we do see you have a service appointment pending. The technician will be glad to properly diagnose and repair the refrigerator, so you can enjoy your appliance without further trouble.
We do anticipate a new unit may take at least 24 hours to reach the desired temperature. Checking the temperature controls and ensuring the doors are able to properly seal may be helpful. If you are referring to the water filter and need to obtain the compatible one for your model, we can advise this refrigerator would use our RPWFE filter. That’s available on our Parts website here: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/spec/RPWFE .

Impressed how much space inside of both compartments. Lighting is outstanding. Like the door alarm so we know if it isn’t closed properly. Only small issue is that the chipped ice splatters when dispensing into the glass.

Great except for freezing meat and veggie dept

The fridge is reall nice - roomy, nice sturdy shelves, big meat and veggie dept, great ice maker. And very attractvive and easy to clean outside and inside. But for the first 2 weeks everything in the meat and veggie bins froze. I turned the temp up as high as it would go, still froze. Finally quit freezing after close to 3 weeks.
I would recommend this to a friend!
