Basic Useful Functions Are Being Lost

The new fridge runs fine, it holds our food, it’s spacious inside, & with the ice maker in the door instead of on the top shelf area we didn’t lose too much of that spacious storage. Of course, I would have been fine with just water & not an ice dispenser as my previous GE refrigerator was, but we couldn’t find one like that. My serious concern though is we could no longer get one with the features I used most. I don’t need/want an appliance I can control with my phone or that creates a shopping list for me or anything else “connected.” Give me instead shelves that slide out for easily reaching things in the back, give me a simple compartment for storing butter or other such items.
I consider myself fairly tech savvy & forward thinking, but my refrigerator just needs to be a refrigerator and it needs to be convenient for me to use simply for storing & accessing my cold foods. The refrigerator looks nice, is more smudge resistant than my last & the doors have definitely been improved so they feel sturdier. It will be fine for the years it’s expected to last. Hopefully by the time I need a new one, some basic functions will have returned.

Love this refrigerator!

This refrigerator is amazing! The lighting within is so bright and makes it so easy to see everything, even in the back of the shelves. I had previously owned a side-by-side, but with the french doors in this model and having the freezer on the bottom instead of the side, it allows you to place large trays of food on a shelf since the shelf is the full width of the fridge. A great perk is having the drawers at mid-height instead of at the bottom of the fridge in my other model. And it has three drawers! I do not mind having the freezer at the bottom at all. I was hesitant about that feature due to no shelves, but since it has a pull-out drawer, it helps keep things organized a little better. I get in my freezer far less than my fridge, so makes since to have the freezer on the bottom. Great Turbo Cool option.
If I am doing a bunch of cooking and opening the door frequently or putting a lot of warm stuff in the fridge, I hit the turbo cool and it will cool everything much faster. Dislikes: there's less storage in the doors and the top of the fridge is not completely flat. With this model, the top of the doors extend higher and further back on the top of the fridge making the top two different heights. So if you were to set something up there, be careful where you set it. Also a dislike is how noisy it is. At this price point, I am disappointed at how loud it is. Therefore, only 4 out of 5 stars
