Easy to see inside

Noisy so I bought sound deading material and glued to wall behind fridge.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We've had this refrigerator for about 2 months and love it! The LED lighting and wide-swinging doors gives us great access to all things in the refrigerator. Freezer drawer is also well lit and convenient for our needs. Only criticism is with water/ice dispenser. Button labels are not easy to see. Besides that, we love our decision to get this unit!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall Positive, only minor flaws

Purchased this fridge ~3 months ago. So far happy with its performance cooling & freezing wise. We switched to this top and bottom style fridge/freezer, from the side by side style and find it much "roomier" to use - lots of space in doors and on the shelves. We are also really happy with the matte slate finish. It is much easier to keep looking nice than a shiny stainless steel, and also looks nice with the warmer tones of the wood and paint in the kitchen.
There are a few things design wise that are bothering me though. 1. the water spout has a tendency to drip, which is fairly annoying. 2. there is a vegetable draw that spans the width of the fridge, so if you want to open it, you have to open both doors of the fridge. 3. The protective wrap that covers all of the exterior panels is very difficult to get off completely. GE basically tightly sandwiched the wrap with some of the other trim pieces, and when the installer pulled the main pieces of wrap off small pieces of plastic were left behind in visible seems along the door panels. I would recommend taking this wrap off yourself (as opposed to a potential installer). I think it would be easier to pull the wrap out from the "nooks and crannies" if you take your time to do it right.
Overall happy with the purchase though.

Whirlpool holds way more!

While I love the asthetics of this fridge the capacity is awful! The whirlpool I had previously held way more. The veggie drawer doesn’t pull out all the way and the shelves are not able to move well in order to fit taller items I had to completely remove a shelf - waste!!!

We are extremely happy with our 36 in. French Door GE Refrigerator!! The PROS: It is spacious with up-to-date features like the LED lights positioned inside to see better, the “In the door” icemaker so it gives more room in the refrigerator/freezer, and the timeless look of the panel to utilize the water and ice. The ice capacity is great for two people and it fills up quickly, so the ice is always available. We preferred the ice maker in the door to allow more room inside the refrigerator as for one of the reasons why we bought this model. One can get the bottom freezer ice maker as an option. Nice to have if needed. For being Senior Citizens, it is so much easier to get into the freezer and see what you have. The freezer can hold many frozen sized food items. You will have to thoughtfully think of your organization to make sure what you have will fit in the freezer section. When you open the freezer bottom drawer, a light shine from above so you can see what in in the freezer. Love that!! In the refrigerator, we love the Quick Space Shelf that you can slide to fit any tall items. The large door compartments are roomy for all the condiments/large jars and they can be adjustable. You can adjust the refrigerator temperature to your liking and not the factory setting. The different temperature setting for veggies and meats are nice too. While the bottom storage drawer in the refrigerator is the full length of the refrigerator, it doesn’t bother us to open both doors. We like that you have the large width for all your food items. It is a change from the other older refrigerators we have been used to. CONS: There is no butter bin on the side of the door but that is not a big deal for us. If you want that space, you create and area for it!! While we love the panel of the panel dispenser and it lights the one you want: Water, Cubed, Crushed ice, etc., it can be hard to find the next selection in the dark. You need to have the light on in the kitchen or put your hand close in front of it and the light will shine back enough to find the next selection to push like getting Cubed ice first and then push for the water. We have not experienced any water drips after using crushed ice so that review for this is still pending with time. We just got it for our remodeled kitchen, and it fits in perfectly. We understand that most appliance won’t have exactly everything, but overall this is a great refrigerator for a couple like us or a family. You will have to go online to read any PDF file of the refrigerator. This is the times of technology for us, not a negative. You can still find directions if needed. We had a side by side refrigerator before and this is such a huge and wonderful improvement in capacity size. A “4” if you are particular on things (as we have read in the reviews) but we give it a “5” for the overall usage of this appliance.
