I REALLY LIKE THE ICE MAKER IN THE DOOR

Purchased this GE after returning another brand refrigerator that would not properly cool the door area. This twin chill system on the GE cools the complete refrigerator including the doors. Also the Turbo cool helps when needed. Like the Slate color and it matches our kitchen .
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great refrigerator

Absolutely love the bottom freezer, the amount of space in the doors, shelves, produce bins. Love the convenience of the in the door water and ice! So far have not found anything negative. Did add the ice maker in the freezer and glad we did that. If there is anything I would recommend differently it would be to have something different than a flat surface under the water and ice for spillage.

Good prod for price, if noise doesn't bother you

Replaced an LG model which stopped cooling. Width is listed as 35-3/4" and "should" fit in a 36" opening... beware, while a tape measure agrees when measured at the top or bottom, the middle of my unit balloons out past 36" so it would not fit in my location without rubbing in the center. After a lot of custom cutting and sheetrock work i opened the space to 37-1/2" which allowed the baseboards to be used as before. I had read this complaint before so i was prepared to perform the work needed myself.
The inside is laid out well and holds a LOT of food. Thermometers placed in the freezer and frig confirmed the actual temp agreed with the settings (0 and 37).
My complaint is the NOISE when it's running, has 2 speeds, one of which sounds like a car or motorcycle revving up, and its WAY LOUDER than the old LG. If i had known it was this loud i would have chosen another brand. With our house layout (great room near the kitchen) I hear the frig running when watching TV, never happened with the LG. The frig seems well built and the doors close as they should. I try to buy American made when i can and was pleased to see this unit was U.S. built.
Compressor/fan noise is a BIG concern unless your kitchen is far away from everything else. IF the unit was quiet, i would give it 4 or 5 stars.

Needs Improvement!

The refrigerator is great other than the ice maker. The ice maker does not make ice quickly. It takes a day to drop 2 loads. Also it has to be the smallest ice storage I have ever seen. If I was able to see it in the store I would NOT have ordered that refrigerator!!! We have to buy ice at the convenient store and store it in the freezer so we always have ice.

Excellent refrigerator

This refrigerator is very quiet. It has ample room even for large items. The ice maker has performed flawlessly and provides as much ice as we need. The controls are well laid out and easy to use. We are very pleased with all aspects of this appliance.

Noisy Refrigerator

Sorry, cannot recommend this refrigerator due to the noise level. It has an annoying hum to it and then at time sounds like a jet plane taking off when the compressor comes on.
