We love our fridge! The only problems for us are because we like to entertain. When there is a lot of food inside, there isn't much room for drinks. Also, the ice maker can't seem to keep up with us. Besides that, we love it! Our fridge was the only one on our street to hold up during a 2-day power outage that we had last month! We tried not to open it too often, and it stayed cold!

Ok...but..........

The overall outward appearance is nice, but there are some issues which concern me. The The Climate Zone drawer comes off the track very easily and is very difficult to get back on. Everything must be emptied from the drawer and a lot of "wrangling" goes on to get it back in. The trick seems to be in NOT lifting up on the drawer at all. This will be a "pain" every time I clean the refrigerator !!! The cantilevered glass shelves concern me --- I place half gallons of milk, our water filtration pitcher, and anything on the "heavy" side as far back as I can so that these items are not sitting on the front of the shelves where there is little support. The front of the freezer drawer seems flimsy --- every time it is pulled open it "gives" a little --- I expect it to crack and break eventually. The stainless steel handles show every smudge --- they must be wiped off several times a day. My husband and I are also wondering if the left door (the one with the seal attached) can safely be opened without opening the right door first --- or will this cause the seal to break off eventually ? After our refrigerator was delivered and we removed most of the packaging and protective materials, we discovered that some of the protective plastic had apparently been put in place before the seals were installed. There was no way to pull it off easily --- we had to take a utility knife and carefully cut it away without damaging the seals. After having our "old" refrigerator for thirty years (it still worked --- we replaced it in order to have something more energy efficient and save on our electric bill) --- we found shopping for a new refrigerator difficult at best. At lot of the features that are included in new refrigerators don't really seem to be improvements to us. The glass shelves are a constant pain to keep clean --- the old heavy wire shelves were easier to clean, supported more weight and probably allowed better air circulation. The mechanism for allowing water to enter the water dispenser/icemaker is very noisy. We actually bought a GE refrigerator because the last one we owned was a GE --- so we are hoping for the best as far as it having a long lifespan. To date (after owning it for several months) we have seen no savings on electric bills.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
