Looks good but drawer track keeps breaking

Purchased the warming drawer and had problems with the drawer opening day 1. Problem is the plastic parts in the track that don't last. Used the drawer 4 times since new and it has now broke a 3rd time (within 1.5 years). Disappointed in Bosch quality on this item. Could have spent half on another brand but bought a whole Bosch kitchen due to the product brand quality. Not so sure I made the right decision.

Cheap plastic locking mechanism

We tried to use the warming drawer for the first time and it got stuck after opening and closing it a couple times. We removed the drawer and found out that the locking mechanism was the culprit. Some cheap plastic locking piece on one side of the sliding rail seemed to be not working properly and I had to contact BOSCH to get it repaired. It was surprising to see the use of a cheap plastic for the locking mechanism, which is a critical part of the warming drawer. If I had known it, I would have bought BOSCH.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Addition To Our Bosch Kitchen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided that this was the extra that could be the most useful to us.
In reading reviews, I found that, if you can, these are best located near counter-height instead at the bottom of an oven stack (near the floor). Ours was used to help fill-in the cavity of another brand’s combo oven.
Warming drawer uses we have found are proofing bread, keeping earlier baked items warm while baking/broiling another dish, keeping meals warm for late arrivals and recipes that call for using warmed plates or bowls. We want to experiment tenting chateaubriand with this and are looking for more ideas.
This unit could use a removable sticker on the front that reads “Push Here To Open” for the novice installer. Our service provider appeared to follow procedures as he worked through the resulting issues and all have been resolved.
I would recommend this to a friend!
