I did a lot of research on what I wanted, and I have to say this is almost the perfect TV in 2017. There is not a lot that gives even close to the picture quality and I do believe that is the primary reason for getting a TV. The look and build quality are in a league of their own from what else you'll find on the store shelves. It looks stunning in my living room whether it's on or off, day or night. I do have a sound system attached, but having tested the internal sound I can see myself retiring this set in a few years when I upgrade to a games room without any sound system and people will be shocked to find there is no external sound system because they will not believe how good it sounds by itself. Get it.
good engineering easy to understand should be made in america

Great motion handling But poor picture quality!

I bought the the Sony X800E 43in version on July 25, 2017.
Pros: For a 60hz panel motion handling is great. No real Motion blur to speak of. Input lag isnt the best out their but its good enough. For a mid range tv it has good brightness.I have no real issues gaming on my console. I like the design and plenty of top apps to choose from such as Netflix. Amazon Prime, and Hulu.
Cons: My biggest issue with this tv is the fact that Sony uses an IPS panel. I really wished Sony used a VA panel instead. This tv in a dark room or very few lights on will be a poor choice and I would not recomended it. Dark scenes in movies and TV shows looks more gray than black do to the fact this is an IPS panel. If you always watch TV shows and movies in a very bright room then you will be fine with an IPS panel. That is my only real con but for me its a very big one because contrast ratio is a huge part to good picture quality, and IPS panels have very poor contradt ratios.
Just purchased the X900F because it appears to be about the best non OLED 4K TV Sony makes. It took a lot of time for 1 person to put together and setup. The setup pictures were terrible. A few words would have helped a lot. I had some strange issues trying to connect to my 5ghz network connection. I had use the 2.4ghz for now. The setup needed a Google account and I did not have time to figure out my logon info during the setup. I set that up later. I find it difficult to locate things from the Home screen. It is much different than my previous Sony TVs for setting up. At this point I still need to review everything and make sure all is well. TV works great. Trying to get the second HDMI cable into HDMI3 was a beast. I dont understand why Sony went to vertical slots. Its very hard to fit the cable into the HDMI3 slot for my Home Theater.
Voices do not match lips with mated sound bar. also remote design of central ring is a poor design, easy to hit wrong function, not intuitive or easy to use. Picture is nice quality. Set up was easy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
