flimsy, and nothing gets dry
on October 21, 2022

I had to return the other dishwasher I had originally ordered because, with it's door handle, it wouldn't fit in our small space. So I got this. I don't like it. Nothing gets dry at all. The utensil basket seems like it doesn't even belong to this model, it doesn't sit correctly and utensils make it tip. The whole thing feels flimsy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review for your dishwasher. Sorry to hear about the silverware basket and drying issues you've had here.

This model actually has a feature called Condensate Dry. This is an energy-efficient drying system on some dishwashers. With this drying system design, condensation will form on cooler surfaces in a warm humid environment. At the end of a cycle, while the dish load is still hot, the stainless steel tub walls are already cooling down and pulling condensation to form on the tub walls instead of the dishes. This provides natural air drying of the dish load. The use of a rinse agent ensures spot and film protection for dishes and assists the drying process. If you're having drying issues, you may want to check to make sure that your incoming water temperature is at, at least, 120 F.

Also, if you'd like to take a look at some loading tips, you're free to start on page 8 in your Use and Care manual, here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55125-3.pdf&_ga=2.123481998.404188722.1666710743-1052664212.1665428950

We do hope this is helpful. Know that we're here if you've got other questions or concerns in the future.

Best wishes,

Practically silent!

Amazing dishwasher replacing one from the early 80s. It's practically silent, has more room than expected, cleans super well and even though it doesn't have a drying feature when I get my dishes out the next morning they are all dry.

Avoid!!! After less than 2 years of very light usage, it does not turn on and has no power. And main PCB board replacement + labor cost more than half of the price

Rust
on September 3, 2021

As expected. Technical sent to service dishwasher told me that he cannot fix it. Oll bottom and inside part of the door of the dishwasher covered with rust stains. Issue is not related to washing something rusty or to rusting trays as Haier tries to present it. Rust particles plug filter. According to technician dishwasher does not have any metal inside. All plastic this means that all that rust is coming of the stainless steal. Plugged filter need to be cleaned after each run. Rust accumulates even if you run dishwasher completely empty. No trays not dishes.

Hi there,

Thanks for your review. So sorry to hear about the issues that you're having with your dishwasher, we can understand how this would be frustrating. In this case, we'd recommend taking a look at the following article to see if the information inside helps: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17552

One of the issues could be rust in your water supply. If this is the case, we'd recommend reaching out to your local water company to have your water tested.

We do hope this helps!

Best wishes

Dirty gritty grime all over my dishes
on June 10, 2025

This is the worst dishwasher! It doesn’t clean at all. Instead it deposits a dirty gritty grime all over my dishes and the inside. I could not scrub my dishes clean!!
Response from manufacturerBy TierraHaier_AppliancesJune 16, 2025
We'd like to assist you with your dishwasher. There are many reasons why spotting or grit can be on your dishes after a cycle, such as extremely hard water, overloading or improper loading of dishes, detergent issues, or even poor water pressure. We recommend referring to the article below for troubleshooting:
https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21548

If the issue persists after trying the suggestions above, please schedule a service appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-426-3393 or schedule online at https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service

Appropriately size dishwasher given my kitchen
on January 17, 2019

I like the dishwasher. Given the configuration of my kitchen, I could not use a standard 22" dishwasher. I needed a thinner unit, and this does the trick. It is attractive and very quiet.
Because it is a rectangle and not a square, the washer arm is limited in length by the smallest dimension. Sometimes the washer has trouble doing a thorough job cleaning if the are very dirty dishes in the corners of the basket (the longest distance from the arm). Now that I know this, I just load the unit appropriately, placing the dirtiest dishes toward the center where I know it is going to get a full direct blast of water. Then all is good.
It was worth the purchase. It is hard to find an 18" unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!
