Wonderful oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being 5'4 I looked forward to this side opening wall oven with anticipation. Took many months to be back in stock and waited patiently and it doesn't disappoint!! From the ease of the door opening, slide out racks, self cleaning and many other options to choose from, it is by far the best oven I've ever had to bake with. So worth the wait and money. Even though I have a free standing Bosch stove, this has become my everyday use oven. Even browning of baked goods and meats, hardly any heat being blown into the kitchen while on and fast cool down. Just AWESOME!

Under performing

Would give this a Zero star rating if we could. Been using this oven for 2 ½ years since completing our new house. Initially preheating took way too long, even in Fast Preheat mode. Had a service tech come out a month or two in. Some testing and adjustment was made but we experienced no real difference in preheat times. Over the past year, the oven has increasingly not gotten to set temperature or it does not keep to set temperature during use. We placed a stand alone thermometer in the oven to check temperature. Just now baking cookies, its set to 360 even though recipe calls for 350. Cookies have been in 35 minutes. Oven temperature hovering around 325.
The controls are much too sensitive to touch as the slightest inadvertent brush of the hand results in a beep and change. The controls also have no light so at times they are hard to read.
We would replace this oven if we could.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Side open ovens

Wonderful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently built a new home and bought all Bosch appliances for the kitchen. This oven is by far my favorite purchase. I love the left swing door, I am not afraid of being burned inadvertently and our daughter is able to help get items in and out with ease. The control panel is easy to use and read. I also like that the control panel can be locked. An expensive appliance, but worth it!

LOVE my new wall oven!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 18 year old oven decided to burn my batch of cookies so I decided it was time for a new one. After researching many ovens, I chose the Bosch side door wall oven and ordered it from our dealer. It arrived several weeks later and I couldn't wait to try it out. My first attempt was a loaf of Italian bread one Thursday pasta night and was I surprised. Instead of baking a flat loaf, my bread came out 8" high and crusty in new oven. My hubby said "what happened?"
After the bread I did make a new batch of cookies using the convection bake cycle and they came out beautiful. A roasted chicken was my 3rd use - delicious.
The oven is simple to program and keep clean. I love the telescopic shelf on the bottom - makes is very easy to baste poultry without making a mess on the door. I still find myself reaching up to pull the handle down on the door - new door opens like a microwave - great styling.
Can't wait to try more recipes, I love to cook & bake - I don't know how I lived so long without this oven.
