Amp is known to quit...
on December 28, 2023

I have owned this R112SW for roughly 3 years. Yes, it sounds great, but.....after having issues and searching the internet for a soliton, it seems like the amp on these doesn't like it's job and eventually quits.

Like someone else said once you turn up the gain where it sounds good it cuts off…shouldn’t happen with such a high end subwoofer

Pulsing sound when off

Bought in late August '19. Used somewhat regularly but not abused. Worked perfectly up until today. Without the TV/receiver being on, the sub was making the common pulse/heartbeat noise on it's own. Currently looking for a different brand now as I thought Klipsch made great products.

Wimpy

Sorta wimpy not musical at all .these are long discontinued and have had few them go through my home theater business over the years and I guess the customers like them .I couldn't deal with the boomy under powered bass. I have Crown power bass amp pushing 1005 watts per side in parallel mono driving 2 12 JBLs in a single Ampeg cabinet ported at 40HZ so the bar is set high but really don't like any klipsch subs
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was a Nice Father's Day Gift!

I started building my Klipsch speaker system about two years ago. In May 2013 purchased two F30 towers, a C-20 center speaker, and two S-10 surrounds. I already had an older Kenwood sub from a past system. All of these speakers were connected to a Denon AVR-1913 (7.1), also purchased in May 2013, and calibrated via Audyssey. The system sounded good but was obviously missing in the sub area. In December 2014 I added two additional S-10 surrounds and reconfigured the system adding two "front high" speakers. Sounded better but was still missing in the sub area. After months of hint dropping, I received the Klipsch R-12SW sub for Father's Day from my wife. Setup in less than ten minutes, re-calibrated again with Audyssey, and WOW! What I had been searching for had been found! This system is in my man-cave connected to my network, three tvs, a cable dvr, a Roku3, a Sony Blu-Ray, a Playstation3, and a dvd recorder. I never thought internet radio could sound so stinking good! And movies literally kick some major butt! My only disappointment is waiting two years before acquiring this sub....it rocks!
Pros: A Boomer, Attractive, Easy To Set Up, Good Audio
